I feel running with a headlight out is providing a service. It gives people an opportunity to moan about it on forums. You’re welcome*.
*My n/s headlight . If I get stopped has been out for a couple of weeks, I’ve got a spare and I’ll get round to changing it when I can be arsedits only just gone and I’m looking for a safe place to change it for the spare I have in the centre console officer.
not your best plan mate of mine got pulled for a rear light out , 5.30 am on his road to work . thanks for telling me he says ,ive got a spare in the glovebox I can change it now. sorry sir , heres your ticket you are required to take your car to a garage get it fixed and this form filled in and stamped to say its been done then present it at the station . it cost him £10 for fitting a bulb and a further £12 admin fee for stamping the ticket plus the hassle of trailing to the station with the damned thing . this was a few years ago but I doubt its changed .

My son has his own vehicle workshop so the fitting and stamping won’t cost me anything.

It’s frustrating that there are no traffic police about to stop them.
On the other side of the coin, I was coming home from Accrington tonight, towards Oldham, and between Pilsworth and Simister Island, I passed a White unmarked DAF Tractor unit running solo, with the whole of it’s rear O/S lights out in the pitch black. How did the driver not notice this on his pre trip inspection. On the N/S/R lights there are two side lights on the cluster, so he I don’t think he has an excuse .
How did you manage to not collide with such a poorly lit vehicle? . . . . oh the drama.
Don’t be such a ■■■, it was driving down with heavy rain, and no lightning on this stretch of motorway. Not a drama for me, but could be for a less experienced driver. Quite simply, he shouldn’t be on the road with no offside rear lights.
I’ve noticed a marked in crease in ‘one light vehicles’ over the few months, not only out in the sticks , but on the motorways too. I counted six one headlamp large vehicles coming down the motorway one night , all one behind the other !!
