I may have just caught sight of a working Ford Transcontinental on the A14 yesterday morning at about 6.30 am going west near Brampton Hut, did anyone else see it or am I losing the plot.
The owner of the transcontinental posts on the transcontinental fb page, he does car and motorhome collection all over Europe (believe it or not) he said he was in the uk this week, he enjoys the routiers and has modified the truck to suit his needs, seen it at Gaydon show and its a cracker.
Photo is from the net and not mine
Thanks, I am sure that’s the one I believe it had two camper vans loaded on the trailer, like a lot of older vehicles I see they don’t always register until they have gone by me.

Nice! That looks like the old Ron Wood Centurion, was L3 RWH?
I was racking my brain who used to have it, yes it was Ron Wood from sheerness way. He had a very smart fleet.
So I did a bit of Googling. I reckon it was centurion number 49/100.
We briefly had one of the others when I was a kid: first truck I ever rode in where you could spin the wheels up even with a trailer on…

Yes, the Volvo.
Start with Harry Monks first comment.

Not in the same league as the logging f88 but this is always working at the fair in Llandudno on the bank holiday weekend show we attend.

So how would anyone know that the 2 posts were related?
I saw a really nice old Volvo F12 engaged in container work just outside Southampton earlier this week - two thumbs-up from me!
IIRC, its registration number was WHO —V. Has anyone else seen it?

Nice stuff. I can’t remember the last time I saw an F12 at work. I think it’s about 15 years, and it was an old lorry even then.

I couldn’t believe it; seeing it fair made my day
I imagine that it works out of Southampton Docks, so no doubt I’ll see it again one day, as I quite often do deliveries to the warehouses and fulfillment centres on its periphery. I’d actually been there about an hour beforehand.

The F12 belongs to Ian Lawson from Southampton and it still works every day, he’s had it from brand new now 42 years old

Amazing stuff. That’s almost up there with the logging F88. There’s only 8 years between them.
Does anybody know if that Scania 2 series (I think it was an old X reg) still works? I think it was a pinkish and yellow colour, and pulled a flatbed trailer. I seem to recall it worked out of the Avonmouth area, but I could be wrong. I know it was working a few years ago because it overtook me. But I’ve seen nothing of it for a while.
Saw this motor maybe 12/18 months ago in my area. Definate double take moment. Dont know if its still earning its corn

That was magazine featured about 4 years ago. It was on revenue earning work then, delivering mattresses (I think) on odd days here and there if I recall. So I imagine it still works similarly now.
