Very true Larry.Perhaps we had all better practice at keeping breathing as long as we can.
Cheers Dave.

It’s not just keep breathing,   it’s keeping all the other body parts working, one of my bowling mates name of Oscar, had a new hip, he got through that and had three games of bowls. Then the other hip played up, he got that done, and he played bowls using a big walking stick to walk, and a small walking stick with a flat rubber bottom to bend and bowl. He had about a dozen games, and was getting back to his high standard and was very happy, then the other week he finished bowling, and said to me my hips are giving me pain, I said Oscar go to the doctors straight away, he did and he was sent to the hospital for a X-ray, he was kept in, it is his spine, it needs a operation,    but they are not keen to do it because of his age 88 years, am told he is in great pain. Sometimes life ■■■■■!

Not easy for him Norm, but if he kept playing bowls up until he was 88,thats pretty good. Not nice needing an operation on his spine, but I suppose these things happen with age.
Cheers Dave.

Went to Kettering to buy some wall & floor tiles for my bathroom, having the bath taken out and a wetroom put in, completely strip back to the brickwork and re- plaster the walls, fit new shower with a fold-up seat, so it is ready for my wife when she goes in to have her hip operation.   I asked my daughter to drop me off at the hospital and went to see Oscar, I took him four cans of Bass, he said he couldn’t drink them, he was on antibiotics, I said you can when you have finished them, his daughter said I will take them home for you!   Oscar you are looking well, he said yes except for my hips and back, I feel well, but I cannot feel my feet, I said I know the feeling , I have that with my legs and feet, but at least I can still walk, do you know what they are going to do with you, no he replied, I have been told nothing so far! His daughter said dad you have cheered up and got a smile on your face. How can you not, when you have a friend like him, I never know what he will say or do!   Bye I will try to stop longer next time!

Been in the garden today after bowls, the lawn I rolled it,   I raked it,   then I mowed it,   I was knackered when I stopped for my dinner,I still have to feed it with evergreen and let it kill the weeds, also aerate with spikes and seed any bare patches. I suppose Harry has a false lawn he roll away in the winter. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

It must be warmer where you are Norm. There is nothing growing this way,as its far to cold. I don’t usually have much sympathy for the farmers, but they are short of feed for the animals after last years poor summer and a hard winter followed by a cold spring. Lets hope it soon warms up,otherwise everything is going to be even more expensive in the supermarkets next autumn. :frowning:
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Harry has a special mesh on the whole garden covered in six inches of sea washed
gravel and the only gardening I need to do is put a few plants in my containers I
used to hate grass cutting, if your going to grow grass why not make a few bob and
raise a few sheep, lawn kept nice and short and a full roasting tin as a bonus.
thanks harry, long retired.

The farmers will give you the sheep at the moment Harry, they haven’t much feed left to give them after a wet summer and a hard winter, with no grass growing either.
Cheers Dave.

I knew Harry wouldn’t have a lawn,   I can read him like a book!       If you know any farmer want to sell carcass of sheep at a reasonable price, I would buy, my wife loves lamb or mutton, put them in touch with me, at the moment it’s almost £10 per kilo, when I was on FMC fatstock marketing, I would buy a couple of sheep or a side of beef, that was in the 60’s. :astonished: :astonished: :astonished:
