i think you should reconsider that offer norman , north east drivers stick together like (zb) to a blanket . if you treat harry and ange , you’ll have to treat the whole lot . not that you couldn’t afford it being a well heeled southerner . on the subject of pension though , the more you put away for your retirement , the more the more the tax man will take off it , and it has already been taxed once . that won’t apply to norman though , he’ll have his tucked away in some offshore bank account , possibly chris webb’s dodgy neet out money account . cheers , dave

Dave the Renegade:
The trouble with a lot of the genuine people who legitimately claim benefits or allowances, they are getting lumped in with scroungers, which is very unfair. Usually the Benefits Agency give with one hand and take away with another, and they ain’t religious. :open_mouth:
You are better off Pete,if you had urinated it all against the wall and smoked dope.
Then you could claim everything.
Cheers Dave.

And that sir is very VERY true. My wife and myself set our life out to pay our way all through life, we now get basic state pension and that’s it. No pension credits, no anything else. If we had scrounged our way through life the state would now be paying a hell of a lot more benefits.
However, we KNOW we did the right thing all those years ago, we’ve no debt, we’ve no mortgage, we have our family, a nice car, and we’ve a tenner in our pocket . And we are happy.

brian , you are mellowing in your old age , in previous posts you always referred to the good lady as the domestic help . has she been promoted or has she been reading your posts ? i know if my other half read what i write on here it would be a long cold winter . cheers , dave

I’m the same as you Brian, never been rich, but have no debts and own my bungalow and my two vans and half the dog.
Cheers Dave.

Dave I hope you have got the half that bites,    not the other end,   that is a messy business.

Norm this little Cairn terrier doesn’t show his teeth to anyone.I’ve had two other Cairns in the past and both of those could get aggressive, but this one is a super little dog.He could bite if he was so minded, you only have to see him with a bone or a toy.The only time he showed his teeth was when an Alsatian went for him.Not a fair contest, but Tracy managed to send the other dog away. The Alsatian has gone for a few dogs around here. The owner has now been warned by the Police.
Cheers Dave.

I know, I’m just an old softie at heart, after 53 years of wedded bliss :unamused: we get along OK, I’ve even let her start calling me Brian now…just as long as she remembers she’s not permanent. :stuck_out_tongue:
I took her out for lunch last Sunday…a pint and a packet of mini cheddars.

hiya,
A guy who lives near me has a couple of Cairns Mother and Daughter
the pair are really people friendly and love kids they are usually in the
school queue when I go for my grandkids and they get really excited as
the kids are coming out of class, but they also “work” and are also able
to keep the dog owners friend well supplied with rabbits for feeding his
birds of prey which he exhibits at shows, Cairns have a good lifespan too
and very hardy not needing much in the way of vetting only the annual
jabs seems to be all they ever need, getting carried away a bit here Dave
you being an expert on the breed, and me being quite knowledgeable on
the Jack Russell but both breeds being very similar in temperament and
both rarely being unwell and needing the expensive vet’s services.
thanks harry, long retired.

Quite right Harry,we had Jack Russell dogs when I was young. The first Cairn lived to fifteen and a half, the next lived to just over eighteen. This one we have now will be five in December.Tracy loves Terriers and has Jack Russell and Cairn ornaments in a cabinet in our lounge. You could say the place has gone to the dogs.
Cheers Dave.
