Dieseldog ,i think i may have had a few beers with you on the Bering Strait ferry , the motor vessel called MV We are all doomed , did you load Moscow for a drop in Toronto or was it New York with a full load of bear and tiger skins ?
I thought after New York you loaded from Miami for five drops in Hong Kong ? I did like the penguin or dolphin casserole on the ferry .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
theres a good chance you may have .

it was a set run with three part load drops consisting of glider engines for toronto, waistcoat sleeves for new york, and finally it was chicken lips for seattle which got me on the right side of the country to nip down and load miami with ■■■■■ holes for the bermuda triangle.
it was always easier when the ferries were running, but in the winter we just drove across after the sea froze over.
spring and autumn were always the times where you could get caught out and would have to push or pull the boat to keep it lit so that the rest of us could continue to ski off the back of it as the snow ploughs fitted to the front of them would usually make it nice and smooth once it passed and the sea froze immediately which made it more challenging if you tried it alfresco without wearing a dry suit as there was always the chance you could blow a seal with the ensuing disastrous results… ( pun intended)

Blow a seal , is that Dipper Dave pun at his best ? The only hassle with the Bering Strait ferry , was those pesky Russian and Canadian Customs , they had a check point half way over , they would board the ferry and check all the CMR`s and look at our cargo and paperwork , or they set up a mobile road block on the half way point .
I got fined about a grand for no snow chains , and for driving 62 days with no rest , they parked me up , and scraped a line in the ice , over my wheels in case i moved on .
I had two suitcases of Marlborough reds and lights ,ideal for a bribe and "coffee money " , i even saw the famous French Gendarme motor biker in the check point , his name was Pinocio from Cherbourg , he was on a training course . The one with the big long nose .
Then i had a chat with the famous Scottish motor biker with a long ginger beard , who worked for the Gendarmes patrolling the Paris Periphique,
he was also on a course .
