Eric,
Eric…you should recognize the Verstraeten-Verhaeghe Lancia or not?
@Michel: I made this photo in 1984 at the quai site in Antwerp (Sinksefoor)
@Eric: It is Spitals (in 1960 it became AEC Continental) and like you mentioned Berliet, AEC and Maudslay were imported. In later years it became again AEC (Antwerp Equipment Company) and was selling Renault and Tatra.

Hey, Yes i know them have driven very long with old stuff, still exists but if it is the same owner ■■?
same name yes and same location.
Not sure but think it was an old Sedac Lancia but ■■?
lot’s of furniture and light stuff transported in light box trailers drove Lancia’s or Pegaso’s because of
the trailers were Desot. And in their time they could build everything and nice coaches and busses too.
Pitty never sold a reliable motor.
As the coach up here, I have driven it for a while, had a Leyland 0680 in it like all other they had even
their Lancia’s.The Alfa’s were bought beginning the '60’s 64 or 65) for Moskow work but nearly couldn’t
withstand 5 trips with the same engine. But had a very nice 8 speed box and powersteering.
Eric,
Alors, it’s April 1968 and a party of school kids leave England and are picked up in Oostende by a Belgian-registered Fiat coach with Van Hool bodywork. The first picture is taken in Brussel, and the other two are taken in Freiburg in Germany. The 16-year-old boy behind the wheel is me. Robert

Eric,
Well, even though it was 46 years ago I remember that it was a Fiat. I was already into commercial vehicles by then. The driver’s name was Robert too and he was a fund of information. Not only that, he was a good driver; he was courteous; he spoke English, French, Flemmish and German; and he was good company throughout the trip. Apparently, our teacher asked for him every year! Robert
@Robert…astonishingly well preserved, you haven’t changed
@Michel/Mandator…though in B/W herewith the same Lancia in Belgium
in a different situation
A-J, on this B/W picture you can see the old Desot sign (black/silver) under the grille.
Thank you Fernand! A lot of things are more clear now!
thats beautiful
Hi All,

Mezario prototype! Robert
Nice input…and it was one of the first combi-transportation-techniques since 1935 by Culemeyer
from Nürnberg…with followers as Scheuerle, Nooteboom and very known Cometto!
Herewith some nice pictures
@Robert…mentioning MERZARIO…but perhaps you would refer to Ambrogio? Near Mechelen
(actually Muizen) they had quite a large site to handle trailers and containers on/from rail-wagons

Were those Euroliners built like ‘caismobiles’, that could be lifted onto a skelly trailer like a container? Robert
PS The Italians were still perfecting their kangaroos until quite recently, if this picture is anything to go by!! Robert
And on the subjects of Ambrogio and dekzeil-type containers, here’s a lovely pic I found on the net of a B-series ERF with one! Robert
