It depends on what type of person you are. I do work for three different agencies, they all know about the others, and once I’ve committed to doing the offered work I will finish it, no matter what the others come up with. They all know this but it doesn’t stop them ringing. They all know the rates I expect, what type of work I prefer & when, so that when I do say yes to the work they know it will get done.
Say what you like about agencies, and yes I have worked for some lying, thieving types, but all you have when working for them is your reputation, once your considered unreliable you stay at the bottom of a large pile.
Thanks for the replies. The reason I haven’t applied for a full time job is that I’m heading Stateside for a year in January. I don’t want to be “that” guy who gets taken on the after 4 months jacks it in.
