Cab cracking due to last minute alterations to make it a middle east cab, my fault,
Air -condition, alternators, turboโs, air pump for brakes, all packingin, my fault, even when they happened to other drivers.
Hi boys
Norm less of the old if you donโt mind, 13 years to go, thats if they donโt move the goal posts before I make it.
You have jumped to the wrong conclution I ment was it the make that was the problem.
Regards Keith
Keith when they picked the twelve drivers out of the volenteers, they sent us on a weeks course to Leylands, now I know the reason why, they had the upmost confidence in their wagons
that they needed us to keep them on the road.

Comโon Keith you must not,run away after, after stating it was not the trucks fault!
Hi boys
Norm, Not running, donโt do running I might work up a sweat. With the amount of packed snow and ice around here I would probably end up on my back in hospital.
Itโs that cold around here that the boss has shut down early for Christmas. The diesel in the machines keep freezing up,and we have to be very careful about putting in any thing to stop it waxing because of damaging the common rail fuel systems, technology a.
When did BRS Overland stop going ME, was there a big sale or what? I have seen reference to Malcolm Harrison.
BTW that Harry chap has gone quiet again
Regards Keith

We all put ten per cent to diesel of petrol, that would do the trick, and it was far colder! Nov 1977 finished

TVO = Tractor Vapourising Oil,what about that Charlie? White spirit in diesel was a big help as well when it was really cold. The old Ferguson tractors ran on petrol and TVO.Petrol to start it then changeover to TVO,them were tโdays.

Quite a few of the vintage boys still run their old tractors on TVO.A mate of mine in a blizzard in 1964 was delivering bread for the local baker with a TVO Fergie, when he got low on fuel,he filled her up with parrafin from the shop in the village.
Cheers Dave.
Hi boys
We used to make our own TVO. 5 gallon parrafin, 2 gallon diesil for lubrication and 1 gallon petrol to sharpen it up.works well but donโt smell the same. PS donโt tell customs and excise as you are surpost to pay duty.
We used to run 10% petrol as you said Norm and it worked for us in _25.but you had to be carefull if you dipped your jack bar with a rag on into your tank for flaring
It seems nowadays that now they are adding bio the waxing accoures at higher temps and the finer filters for common rail injection cannot cope. Thats progress for you.
Regards Keith.
Keith I have seen wrong fuel put in petrol vehicles and they have had to get them drained and cleaned out, but diesel almost run on anything, but too much petrol makes them knock a bit.
Hi boys
Iโve got a diesel 307 car and the missis despite being told lots of times managed to fill it up with petrol. When she went to pay the cashier questoned her purchase. She rang me for a telling off The garage wanted a fortune to sort it out so I went and towed it to work and drained it myself, what a hassel. The missis had the cheek to ask the cashier if she had to pay for the petrol because she didnโt want it.She said she wasnโt thinking, now theres a surprise
Regards Keith
Hi Keith,
A mate of mine filled his diesel discovery full of petrol about five years ago,was talking to someone he knew while filling up,never noticed he had grabbed the wrong nozzleโฆ
Cheers Dave.
Hi boys
Dave itโs something Iโm very aware of when filling up. The missis was very sorry for a long time
Regards Keith
Hello lads I have a 306 diesel and never put petrol in it, for I was told they have already added something to stop it waxing, never had problem starting up, or any waxing.
Do you think you wives have been reading your trucknet mail and was putting ten per cent of petrol in, but got carried away when at the pumps.
Now the next thing, is some one who read my hardship in northampton of having 1/2 inch of snow, got jealous, and sent us over 4inches from their area,
well pack it in, we had total chaos this morning.
Got well over a foot of snow here Norm, had a load of it last weekend, then another dollop of the stuff last night, only a few vehicles moving around, mainly 4x4โs and a few lorries. My old transit is away being refurbished,so its no go on me without that,as its got proper snow tyres on it.Also my boss has banned me from going out through the door due to the pneumonia episode. So itโs watch through the window,at least I have an excellent view from here,so all in all I think I will stay in the warm .
Cheers Dave.
Dave I try to do as same as you, but my wife always tries to make me feel guilty, by saying the washing machine wonโt start,
but she means you were a plumber get them pipes unfrozen, or are you going to give your daughter a lift, for she cannot drive with a bad back.
poor old me with hardly any feeling in my feet.
Also I dare not go out for I might slip and damage my new knee I had put in, this means you cannot sit in the warm, go out and clear the drive and pathes.
they are crafty this women.
