(even better if they’d ban the brain dead from being let anywhere near anything with wheels).
That is never gonna happen, where would they sell all the Audi’s & BMW’s.

Jams, some are within the roadworks, it’s gonna look like that on Xmas Eve.

Google Maps Traffic. Use it everyday to either a) avoid queues or b) find queues to waste a bit of time in.
Green = No problemo
Orange = Traffic not flowing as well as it could
Red = Slow moving traffic
Dark red = Job is [zb]ed
Before I set off anywhere I look at Google traffic and this site
highways.gov.uk/traffic-information/
Then plan accordingly. They have always been pretty accurate to be fair
I’ll just click on TV BBC red button and either click on UK motorways or Northern region. Very quick and usually up to date.
I fear that the relentless march of technology is leaving me floundering in its wake! I’ve never pre checked a route like some of you guys have, maybe I should use the tools if they are there I suppose. Kind of takes the excitement out of it though I reckon. If Sally Traffic mentions a problem on my proposed route I might (depending on how I feel) take a detour, if I get stuck in a jam and can get off the road I just head anywhere and rely on my finely honed homing pigeon like sense of direction to get me where I wanna be.
You find a lot of nice prospective parking up spots that way too.

I loath sitting in traffic. I tend to know most of my drops now so I know how bad traffic can be so it pays to check before you set off. Normally motorways that are pretty bad like the M25 and M42 at kick out time and the M62 at any point in the day, its worth checking then double checking to make sure they are clear.
I hate sitting in jams, if I can avoid I will. We use the A14, A1 and M1 a lot. Plan b is always nice

Those roadworks are killer during kick out time.
It’s bloody amazing that anything gets delivered now. On the other hand, getting paid by the hour for sitting in traffic has never bothered me. Always make sure you have night out gear with you, even if it means hotel/motel. Different kettle of fish for the poor o/d’s though.
