Not sure if it was the same bloke but one of these demo units parked up at the next farm to Foukes’s farm, and used to run into Quicks at Bretton the ford dealer.
Another borrowed from CCCPs thread, and worlds apart from the F10, but on fleet at the same time!!!

Some of those George Mayers motors from Saltney nr. Chester were always covered in red mud/dust, what on earth did they carry on those ?

Yes mate I remember the Atki’s was suprised when they got Mercs. Thanks for the info yes it looked the colour of red lead paint on the tippers.

Evening all,
now there is a very convoluted and rather interesting tale to tell…abaejam, (the Abthorpe family), Myres…and the eventual integration…(now there is a smooth word for such a bloody operation)!..into Iceland…who became one of my major rental clients in the 80s.
But Bejam was the business model that they followed…and why not ?..it really was light years ahead of the market…and in distribution dear old Frank Petch really did innovate!
Cheerio for now.
Hey everyone, does anyone remember my taid’s company “JD THOMAS & SON” red lorries where roland young is today in Conwy Morfa? They were previously in Penmaenmawr. I absolutely love hearing stories and seeing pictures if you have any regarding my taid’s company!
