Non, Je ne Regrette Rien - A Diary

I am not going to say much on this Neil but all … sorry … some of the boys at our place
are going to miss you especially me !
. Who will i phone now and discuss the latest agency driver who has put his tacho on the dreaded and wrongly using “” FERRY MODE " because of a MMTM© rules!
And who will make me laugh so much that i nearly pee myself at the latest “Mr Smith” story … MAC BTW ( code   )

I have really enjoyed working with you mate you have taught me so much about the tacho rules etc that i have no trouble now saying to people " please show me that in the regulations " it normally ends up with them saying " Well my mate got nicked for it !" F…BS is now my standard reply as you well Know!!

On a more serious note " J " may have " yard duties " for you to do or the occasional tacho training day for some … sorry … all of us to attend !

cheers mate its been a blast !!!

Another great diary coffeeholic, here’s hoping it wont be your last.

Ive enjoyed reading your diaries and your book as i have travelled alot of the same roads and stayed in alot of
same places and who knows we maybe even had a coffee together, as i am not fortunate enough to drive abroad at
the moment your tales have kept me entertained, they are always well written in a professional mannor by i would say
a thinking mans lorry driver, a rare thing!!

All the best with your future plans.

Don’t go!!!

I’ve read the diaries, read the book and seen some of the videos and I’m sorry to hear I will not be reading any more. Never met you, but you always come across as a person with the right attitude to do what ever you choose, well. good Luck

It’s strange how often I have had emails and messages via here and my YouTube page saying the same thing, and there is both you and Ben saying it on here. More than a dozen people have written to say they decided to get into driving after reading the book and watching the videos, I even had an email from a young guy in Croatia saying the sole reason he got into trucking was my book and he is now driving across Europe in what he describes as his dream job.

It is especially nice as it feels like I’ve gone full circle. I got into this industry as a result of reading the old Long Distance Diaries in Truck magazine, copies of which a customer in the pub I used to run in Chiswick in the early eighties passed on to me when he was finished with them. I though, I don;t want a life of slinging drinks, I want a job where the view from the window changes by the minute, I found a job driving a 7.5 tonner, jacked in the pub game and the rest as they say if history.

Well the last time I saw you and waved you bloody ignored me! :imp: :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s strange getting used to this no licence thing. My mate Jimboy124 might run out of driving time on his way home today, he is getting close to his 90 hours, and I said I would run out and meet him on the M20/M25. He could drive my car back and I would drive the truck, he is a really good mate and I owe him big time so it’s no trouble. Then I remembered I don’t have the licence. :frowning:
