Apprently that mark dixon dropped a trailer on its nose and it bent the chassis, managers wanted to get rid of him but andrew and will said he was the face of the company so not to sack him.

Has this already been covered?

with thee Chinese whispers that go with everything Stobart, I reckon he only dropped it a bit low.

at a guess, nothing happened. I hear so many stories about what say, mark Dixon or Ashley have done, I doubt there are enough days in a year. Golden rule is hear a story, forget any factual information, add a hefty dose of bull ■■■■, mix in a generous measure of “my mate"or “a driver” then repeat ad nauseum in your nearest RDC/truck stop. Or post it on the"without lorry drivers” Facebook page. That normally reels in the frothy mouths

His tacho showed 4 hrs 2minutes and he later says that he has only 45 minutes of driving to find a place to park up for the night. Shock horror he finds one beside another stobarts truck

I don’t watch this. It’s corporate bullspit and about as low-brow viewing as you can get. let’s be honest, driving is a pretty boring job, so quite how they can make an entire series of it is beyond me. “will so-and-so get to the RDC in time for his delivery slot?” shock horror!!!

It particularly gets on my nerves knowing what a shower of [zb] they are to work for, and the spate of rate cutting they indulged in some years back just to get contracts which put others out of business, and almost bankrupted themselves into the bargain. IMO Stobart and Tesco make ideal bed fellows. they both reduce people down to numbers and don’t give a toss who they’re stepping on or whose lives they are messing with.

It’s funny, seeing what a bunch of idiots it is driving Stobart trucks

i watch every episode but it really is a load of crap
in fact i wont watch it again cos i find it too stressfull
when he only has minutes of driving time left before he is out of hours
i find myself getting very stressed out so i have a nervous breakdown
i dont like chinning people but with that dickos girly giggle
i dont think i could stop myself

It’s funny how so many on here “Never” watch it but have an awfull lot to say about it…you kno85.!

Do’s anyone think that maybe the programe has brought so good advertising for the industry??

All you ever hear is bloody truck drivers and nasty dirty big trucks etc yet here is a programe that has a good following and shows the trucking industry in a good light…

I was thinking this too, but in conclusion I just kept thinking that it’s a bit poor that a facade that is not representitive of the industry in reality has to win us ‘friends’ over. Then again on the other hand, would anyone care if they really saw some of the trash we have to put up with in reality anyway ?

Why doesn’t someone make their own program following a driver. Pick a stereotype, trackie bottoms, dirty vest, beer gut. Lets all watch him huff and puff as he wobbles off to the roadside grease pit for breakfast. Then later see him very nearly cardiac arrest as he struggles to open the back doors before going on the bay. Obviously then 3 hours footage of him spilling coffee and talking ■■■■■ about his days in the sas.
Then it’ll be dinnertime at another snack van. Looking forward to the bit where he struggles opening his curtains for his reload because watching the sweat patches grow under his pits will be great in hd.
Once loaded he will be into a truckstop for the night, having amassed 6 hours driving. After devouring a huge greasey roast into the bar for 6 pints of cloudy lager. Here we will witness the best stories…just driven 12 hours to get here today, i’m so special to my company i’m paid £200 a day, I just missed that ferry you know…
Anyway now its bedtime, still unwashed we witness gods gift staggering back to his wagon, where he will have a wee on his neighbours wheels before rolling, still clothed into bed. exhausted from his hard days graft.

I think you’ll find most of these “reality” documentaries following people at work aren’t representative of which ever industry they are supposed to follow. And of course it does give a bit of a skewed image of trucking and Eddie Stobarts, but unlike almost every other program showing haulage in the UK, it is at least positive about Trucks and Truck Driving.

And if 90% is telly ■■■■■■■■ it still means 10% is probably accurate and that’s 10% of positive information being subconsciously fed into the minds of the General Public.

And considering it seems to have filled Channel 5 schedules throughout Christmas it must reasonably popular with the Public. :open_mouth:

how are you going to know if you like it or not unless you watch it at least once?

I see that the planner had to pay for his own C+E at a cost of £3500.he wasnt enamoured with Stirling services and had difficulty finding Highland Spring in Blackford. At least he got a start without 2 years experience.

happy sack you are spot on, brilliant
