No Driver shortage soon

my daughter has a 3d printer at school, they make important stuff with it like key rings and copy small plastic animals ,

i cant see it taking over the world just yet, the keyring took 3 days to make

Just you wait until all of these 3D printers start printing 3D printers and empty buses taking the driverless truck drivers to work!

what the hell are you talking about!?

1.the paperless world where its all done by computer and no newspapers need delivering
think that idea failed in the early 90s

  1. 3D printer; print what!
like every old granny is going to have a lath in there back garden
And who is going to deliver the raw matirials to every house hold that is self serfisent with there new printer

3D printing; never heard such a load of twodal

Prepare to have your mind blown.

It’s “knit yourself a solid object” essentially… How many things today are made out of lumps of plastic and metal?
Anything that is just that - can be printed in this manner.

I understand it’s already being used to make things like bespoke replacement parts of the body, hip joints, and the like.

Sorry but that kind of plastic fabrication has been around for years
infact I have seen it in use hear in the UK (yes cheap plastic junk made in the UK not China) in the factories I have picked up for
but those factories make millions of one item not one of one
so cant see it replacing the consumer market in my life time

Can the printer print itself? someone needs to deliver it.

Nah. It erases itself from the start point, and then transmits the erection data through a modem so the 3-d printer can re-construct it at the other end.

In 100 years time, this might well be the science principal behind the by-then invented Star Trek Transporter System.

ONLY when this device has been invented, will their truly be a surplus of transport drivers to goods to transport…

…and even then, stuff will still need to be shuttled between space ports, space ships, and the like. :sunglasses:

I’m sure my last post of good humor and sarcasm was deleted on purpose
welcome to the new ago of totarialism and silence of speech where A small site is so scared of being sued by a 24th century printer

Why not? - It wasn’t that long ago when Eddie Shah was being sued by his 20th century printers! :stuck_out_tongue:
