What is it that makes me think that it probably uses a gallon of oil every 50 miles, has at least two broken springs, no working rear lights, the brake linings are on the rivets and it jumps out of gear?

It appears to be a wartime shot and things were a little laxer.

Mixed load

Presumably the top load is holding the drums together, with p;enty of help from the roping.

Tidy load but I doubt the wisdom of the sign in the windscreen in the event of a shunt!

BCC looks to be in Tooley St.
The green ERF has a proper rave to keep the bottom of the (not on pallets) drums from stepping out.
