Best of luck mate. Hope you enjoy it.

I’ve been running wheat into vivergo in a hull power station from a farm at burton pidsea. I’ve quite enjoyed it because it’s given me loads of experience with the bulker. Feels like I’ve been doing it for ages now. That power station is fairly easy going. Yes you have to do a 30 minute induction but once done they pretty much let you come and go with minimal fuss.
Drax was just a police state with plenty of willing and eager officials. They had speed traps all over the place and they’d constantly threaten to ban you from site for going something silly like 3mph over the limit, which was already incredibly slow, something like 15 or 20mph at most. Another thing that really got on my nerves there was that if you had to tip in a shed, they didn’t want you getting out of the truck to release the tipper door, they had someone there who’d do it, except mine was air assisted with the button on the chassis by the park brake etc and they could never figure it out, they’d be shouting at me to tell them what to do, neither could hear the other over the noise and in the end I got so fed up of them applying the park brake that I used to get out and do it myself, which would set the little Hitler off on his “I could get you banned for this” nonsense. Like I say, the job was great away from that, but unfortunately Alford Traffic were big in to the biomass work at the time and would always try and shove you on to it. A few weeks of Drax was enough for me and I went back to Canada.

Well, that’s my first week out the way… Really steep learning curve [emoji51]
have you looked up at it yet and thought, ■■■■, it’s going over, then realising it’s just the clouds moving

i wish I could find a job crappy enough to make me move to Canada! Only joking, I’d love to try Canada but the Mrs would never hear of it [emoji17]

Wait until you look up and think oh ■■■■ it is going over.
Well, after maybe not enough time to give it chance I decided it wasn’t the job for me. Just a bit too frantic for my liking and the grain dust was getting on my chest, felt like I’d started smoking again! So I’ve decided to move on already.
Starting next week on the containers with maritime.
It can be manic at times. Shame u didn’t take too it. I done it myself for 5 years till I lost my ticket. Loved it except for the Barley itch lol. Would go back tomorrow if the chance came about.
Anyway have happier times at Maritime. (Nope. I’m not a poet.)

Sorry tango boy, my mrs was giving me grief about the hours and being out all week. Maritime is all day work and 4 on 4 off for similar money. We are buying a new house and she couldn’t understand why I would prefer to sleep in a truck and do all those hours when I could earn the same for a lot less hours and be in the new house every night. I couldn’t really find much to disagree with tbh. [emoji15]

Haha, if you wanted something less frantic then you couldn’t have done much better than start on containers.
Get yourself a DVD collection ready, laptop dongle, books, nice pillow for the bunk… yours days of working for a living just ended
[emoji38] and I won’t be getting dirty then ending up on a farm having a night out with no facility’s [emoji16] my mate started on nights at maritime a couple of weeks ago and is really liking it and is earning well by doing an extra shift here and there.
I’ve never done 4 on 4 off before but I’m quite looking forward to having time off in the week to get stuff done when swmbo is at work and the kids are at school. Yes working weekends will be a bit weird to start with but I’ll get used to it I’m sure.
