Was nice to put a face (and badger on chin ) to a name and have a bit of a chat on the boat the other night.
Hope you managed to shake off that cold you were nursing last Sunday
Nice diary and pics. Brought back lots of memories. Fulda Nord used to be one of my favorite watering holes.
See no one’s spotted you mixing up Wetherby with Wakefield yet
brit pete:
DD they normaly transport coal dust, around
That’s perfectly possible, so thanks for that info Pete.
A small point here is that the words “coal dust” aren’t allowed to be used as a proper shipping name (PSN) on their own. However it is possible to include those words as a supplement to the correct PSN.
(ADR is very particular about the consignor naming “stuff” correctly on the documentation.)
But the following description would be legal:
UN 1361CARBON (coal dust) 4.2, PGII (or PG III) [NB: ONLY one of these PGs would be legal.]
That’s why I said that further identification wouldn’t be possible on the basis of the visible signage, unless we could see the paperwork. (Transport document.)

Thanks for good diary and pictures Simon, Not a bad weeks work,do you do same drops every week.
thanks and regards derek
We don’t do the same drops every week, but we do have a large list of frequently visited drops. A few of those get a delivery every week, but the runs are shared among us, so we all take a turn with these drops.
It keeps the job interesting, not doing the same run week in week out.
I seem to get one or two drops/collections every week, who I haven’t been to before.

It was nice to meet you. I’m back to being in rude health again.

It’s yet another good German Autohof. I did find one I wouldn’t be too keen on re-visiting, but I can’t remember where it was .

Ayup, that NSF brought back some memories.Ive had to park up the ramp on the old freighters, strange to be lowered down level next morning and reversing off with a fridge.I too met other drivers,Germans and Hollanders, always a laugh round the big table.I used to deliver to Niegmek, south of berlin, off the autobahn on to the cobbles, then small farm roads to a factory surrounded by a new tarmac road.Strange transformation in a couple of kms.Great diary, where do you load in Krefeld? cheers Joe.

where do you load in Krefeld? cheers Joe.
simon:
Change of plans, that Krefeld job is cancelled, go to Bosch in Witten instead, then Martins (a transport company we work with quite often). Bosch are on their lunch break when I arrive, so I park on the loading area, open my curtains and have 15 minutes break. Once their break is over, I’m loaded and rolling within an hour. At Martins place, 3 pallets are taken off and a 100kg length of pipe is loaded. I secure that with a barrel hitch in a ratchet strap and then take the other 30 minutes of my break.
From Martins in Bochem it’s a straight run to Vlaardigen, just north of the Benelux tunnel in Rotterdam
sweetleaf:
Ayup, just wondered if youloaded Krefeld regularly. cheers Joe.
That Krefeld collection was a new one to me. We have a couple of other places round Krefeld where we load occasionally.

Always a laugh round the big table.
The big round table is no more.
Freight drivers have a reserved area of tables in the buffet restaurant on the Zeebrugge boats though.
It’s all self-service as well now too.
Ayup, looks like Ive seen the best days then. Thanks for the thread ,brings back memories, good and bad.I spent a couple of years on nsf nearly ever night, they were going to give me my own cabin.
