My trip to Murcia

Why dont you take the route between Valencia and Alicante via the A7 - A35 -N344(solo 15km) - A31 -A7, when you get to Valencia instead of taking the AP7, take the righthand sliproad to Albacete A7/A35 and its Autovia all the way apart from the 15km of Route National, also its about 20km shorter and it will save you 38 euro on the round trip.

Brit Pete - Do you work for the Luxembourg Tourist-Board or somethingā– ā– ? :grimacing:

Diesel is virtually thew same price in Spain as Luxembourg anyway :grimacing:

We had a driver who used Petes logic as well. He decided it was cheaper to go via Steenvoorde on route from Wrexham to Blois :stuck_out_tongue: The Samson was a lot cheaper but the 2k fine from customs made him splutter a bit

Del, I never knew that about the Albacete way!! I have even considered it before but shall now.
You made me laugh about Pete working for the Tourist Board pmsl. I have always thought that as he seems to advocate Lux being the best route anywhere.
Diesel was Ć¢ā€šĀ¬0.90.7 at Irun yesterday

He would probably tell to go via Luxemburgo if someone come on here asking for directions from London to Glasgow :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Interesting read malcolm thanks. (go via lux please… i`m getting a headache   )
Good luck swapping from a 480 megaspace to a 430 man :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

FIRST read his post if
he had no hold ups he would have
had plentey of time left,NOW READ
MY REPLY;

RIGHT I AM NOW GOING TO DEFEND
WHY I SAID TO Malcomj to go viaLUX
on SUNDAY, he has driveing /shift
TIME LEFT WHEN HE GETS INTO
France, the ban IS STILL IN FORCE;
YES HE COULD STAY THERE take
a spilt rest or full rest and then go but
it still brings him to the customer late
afternoon, wenseday,
by running his time out towards LUX
when you still have 4.0hrs left brings
you to LUX: you would make it to the customer
in the morning instead of the afternoon wenseday
so perhaps he can get his reload on , this is my
thinking as he said the MAN has only a small
tank, so that was not the reason,

and no i do not belong to the LUX tourist agencey
ALSO i stated in my posts
that BEARS ROUTE WAS SHORTER;

and if you think i am wrong then that is your opinion
as said before running costs can be used TO GET
MONEY from the tax-man,

brit pete:

Late Tuesday, or early Wednesday, at worst by doing a bit Sunday night when the ban lifts in France. There is no benefit to going via Lux on this run, or any run to Spain. All it does is add extra mileage and fuel savings don’t come into it because you fill in Spain.

Keep your hat on :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I beleve you cannot Enter/Transit Luxembourgo while there is a ban enforce on the country your transiting to - Beleve me i know, got the 74 euro fine to prove it :smiling_imp: :imp: :smiling_imp:

I personally would not go via Luxembourgo because a) Your adding 450 km to the jouney costing you 5 to 6 hours(round trip) - Time is money also, also just over half a tacho b) If hes only got 400L tanks, he wonk reek the benefits of buying say 1300L - and even if you did have 1300L tanks the diesel is the same price (well almost - E 0.90Ć¢ā€šĀ¬ - L 0.89Ć¢ā€šĀ¬)

Interesting post about a trip to Murcia :stuck_out_tongue:

I always avoid Lux as well although now I have bigger tanks it can make sense, but as was pointed out there is a driving ban in Lux on a sunday too

An enjoyable read, thanks.

i did not say that he had to return
via LUX and as he said he has a
small tank it was a case that by
going from the times of his first
post, and had he had no problems
he would have enough time to get
to the LUX border,if he stays at the docks
he must stop until the ban is finished
which Means on Friday stopping and the
distance from the docks/shutle is a big one
where as IF he gets reloaded wenseday
he can be much closer to the docks and have
time to travel when he gets off the ferry/shuttle
in other words useing the drivering hours to the max
IT is not just costs that have to be thought about
the COMPLETE use of the driveing time has to be considerd
also ,

Very true, and on a trip like that you don’t want to be wasting driving hours by adding extra Kim’s and therefore using more driving hours than you need to.

He can still get reloaded Wednesday by going straight through France, he will be at the customer Tuesday evening, and potentially get tipped as they work later in Spain, or first thing Wednesday

Brit pete, I have been considering changing the brand of soap I buy . It has always been Camay used it man and boy. As an alternative would you recommend Palmolive or Lux ? I await your unbiased opinion on this weighty subject.

I was trying not to react but, stuff it, IF i am in
france for midday sunday and have time on
then card ,then i am off down to LUX and
so be able to get out of FRANCE with six cards
by comeing back via CAEN;or Calais ā€œā€œdependingā€ā€
on which ferry"" i am allowed to use"",READ malcomj
1st post he used (4) four shifts and so did W/E
break and then into UK,The idea is to get the unit
to have the best earning potential, ie the more work(trips)
one does the more one earns.
BY THE WAY YOU CAN STOP either on the old custom point or the
motorway services before the border, to LUX,

THE ABOVE all changes if one leaves on a monday
and can use all the shift and driveing time, ,
AS THERE IS THEN NO BAN
