My Journey - Theory - C - C+E = Job

gav:
well come on wills, how did it go, i dont want to be in suspenders all day

That’s not what I heard !!

■■■■ ive been exposed,ok its true, but only on a wednesday

Come on wills, spit it out!! dont keep us waiting!!! The suspense is killing me!!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

 Sorry Guys no Happy Ending Yet

1  flaming Kerb 9 minors :imp:

Reverse - straight in beautifull no shunt - got out to have a look Perfect
Controlled Stop - straight Forward

Out the Test Center ( felt relieved at the time just have got that far )

Drive seemed Ok, I thought i’d clipped a kerb early on but he didnt reach for his pad, & I kept breathing

Gear change exercise no probs

Pulling away - had an issue with this before ( class 2 1st test ) all dropped kerbs and I pulled over Examiner " is this a safe place to stop then?"

I explained that if I had gone any further I’d be on the Brow of a Hill!! Examiner " well you should be able to see over it" Me " but its not the best place for other road users to overtake, and when on my class 2 test I didnt pull over because of dropped kerbs and was told by the examiner then " It will be fine for a few Mins" could see I as digging a hole a just shut myself up!!!

Again as with class 2, there were a couple of times I did not get to the correct speeds, no idea why!!!

Still thinking its not going too bad, We join the M6 @ J10 - join M54 then exit J2 - about 10 mins back from Test center…

Examiner "At the next set of Traffic Lights I want you to take a Left…( Woodbine pub " can see its tight…start to get position I’m running the white lines start to take the turn… can see i had gone wide enough…trying to compensate…just couldnt get enough over the kerb she went [zb] Game Over :imp:

Back into test center - Unhook the trailer - recouple No problem, still felt like a waste of time though … …

Examiner " i’m sorry you’ve failed " Gets worse everytime I go over it.

Colin the Lad up from London - Unbelievable, this Lad 4th test last time failed on the reverse + 7minors :open_mouth: ( which as you know, I’m sure he can do it with his eyes closed )…no probs on the way into the Garage, stops a mile short!!! gets out to have a look…carries on he leaves it a foot and 1/2 away from the line… now when he’s failed @ this point b4 he’s called it a day… but he carries on…back into test center he comes looking quite composed I ask my instructor " if he’s given the examiner good drive, would he overlook the reverse?? " NO he replied…

He was right Colin was…well what can you say he had a drive with “4 Minors” and failed for leaving the trailer short by 18" inches

I’m not sitting here as dejected as I thought I would be, I aint happy but I knew this was goona be really tough & it is.

Positives - the reverse - well chuffed learnt this morning that when I start her off the wrong way soon as I could see my red airline to start the opppsite lock - worked a treat for me.

I know I can do it and I’m not gonna give up yet.t…I’d have put straight back in for it today but I’m now out of funds :unamused:

Thank you all for your support, I do feel like I’ve let you all down :frowning:

Wills

ps I have a video of Colins Reverse which I’ll post here later

GUTTED!!! Well in my opinion mate, now you have the kerb thing out of the way,you will fly through it next time, same happened to me,failed first test by clipping a kerb on a real tight corner, second test felt like a doddle, i knew what i was in for and i knew what the examiners were looking for…
keep your chin up mate and you will get it next time. and keep telling yourself that kerbs are like 14 year old girls, you can brush past them but you arnt allowed to mount them

So sorry to hear that Wills.

A real downer :frowning: .

But hey, I know it’s no comfort at the moment but your test sounded pretty good to me and I’m sure you’ll breeze through next time

Unlucky mate. :frowning: better luck next time.

Cheers gav devon & the Big Lebowski

was a tight turn, but just lost my concentration for positioning for them vital few seconds :imp:

I’ll will get there

Wills,

Hard luck mate…!

Your postings have been a great read and you’ve over had over 3000 hits to your thead - I’m sure you’ve helped lots of fellow newbies (like myself).

You may have seen my post earlier re pass rates (more people fail than pass!). Sounds like you a bit of bad luck and an ‘ickle lapse’, we’re all human.

Well done on your commentary and you WILL nail it next time.

All the best captain,

Darren

Thanx TheStonesman, & Good Luck for Tuesday Pal, I have enjoyed keeping my Diary & If just a little bit helps some Newbie to pass it has all been well worth it…& to be perfectly honest it has helped me too!!!

Cannot emphasise enough how much you have to concentrate on every Widest arc, every Position for left & Right Turns & every Sign!!!

Saw your post about the Pass rate and checked Featherstone - 44% or there abouts I think it was… well Today every Class C & C+E failed so tomorrow should be a very good day to take your test there

Just got too find another £200… & try again

:frowning: :frowning:

Sorry to hear about this Wills - but lessons learned for next time and you “Will” pass on the next test. Chain up mate and try, try again.

Don’t let the other guys put you off wioth 4 retests!

Don’t let the other guys put you off with 4 retests!

that bit is frightening, dont think I could take that much ( def couldnt afford it )

Luckily his company " Hewden " has paid for those, but he said this was the last 1 they’d pay for…

But your right & thanx xlthunter, Lessons learned again Today - hope it all comes together next time

Wills

Hi Wills,

Just wanna say im loving your post, giving me real motivation seeing you go through the same things I have done. And advancing to class 1. Real shame, and mega blow you didnt pass. Stick with it, just means u know what not to do next time

Good luck for the next test.

Mate, you will do it next time. I won’t be able to do mine until September \ October now due to other commitments :frowning: . When I do, I will be re-reading your posts for tips etc. Cheers for the advice and video clips, you are a star!
I read that the Londoner got out of the cab during the reverse to check how far the rear etc was. Is that allowed? Can you do that and then reverse some more if you ain’t spot on?
As for funding mate. If you ain’t got the dosh for the retest then get yourself an interest free credit card (introductry rate, 9 months the majority) and whack it on that? That way you can get your retest sooner and repay it interest free for 9 months. Just a thought…

Hi BIG LEBOWSKI,

I’m pretty sure that your not allowed out of the cab to inspect your reversing. It’s wrtten in on of my test books and also my instructor told me too!

Sorry to here that mate - best of luck for the retest !!!

G

wils …how many hours a day drive was u getting with ctt ?what were the start finish times…didnt the trailor have a sneeky little mark on it so u could tell u was in the box on the reverse …

once again unlucky mate

Sorry to hear about your test, good luck with the retest.

You weren’t allowed to when I took my test a few years ago but hasn’t the exercise been altered so you now can?
