Dont worry i live in a detatched house thats well sound proofed. in the 9 years ive been playing my neighbours have never once complained.
the pedal on the left is my remote hi hat eg the on ont he far right. there is another set of hihats right in front of me eg the really small ones.
and portnoy and peart are both great drummers but they dont do it for me tbh. these guys do though

Trombone., Trumpet (actually anything brass except French Horn), Piano, Harpsichord, Bass (electric and acoustic), bit of guitar (not that good, but can work out the chords!), conducting, teaching, bit of composing and quite a lot of arranging.
