It’d be easier to list who hasn’t done this one, rather than who has.
But no-one 's done it like Ben. ![]()
Arise Sir Roger Daltry after his knighthood the other day, The first Who LP I bought, Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy.
Wow! I didn’t know that…nice one Roger.![]()
Townshend will be a bit miffed.![]()
No ‘DJ Rob’s Sunday Disco this week, (yeah yeah I know…everyone is devastated
.
Still shell shocked after getting beat by Sunderland earlier…..well to be fair they didn’t beat us as such, …we lost.![]()
So here’s a couple of random tracks with a comment.
Heard this yesterday first time for years the 98 remix of the band James and ‘All sit down’ much better than the 80s original I think…..see if ya agree.
Oh yeah…Robbie William’s on there (pretending to play guitar)
Coming back down from Livingston yesterday wind blowing like ■■■■, me battling through it with an empty 15’ trailer on getting chucked about like a gallon in a tornado.![]()
My ‘go to track’ when this sh happens, to take my mind off it, is this played at full blast (just below the pain barrier
) on a loop on Spotify.. , while I battle the wind like a hero …..and let out manic loud laughs and howl like a banshee
(I really should start acting more mature,.I’m an adult and a responsible professional driver ffs
)
Anyhoo here it is ‘‘Hocus Pocus’‘ by the Dutch band led by the excellent guitarist Jan Akkermaan….it goes a bit ‘‘Off the wall crazy’‘ byw if you ain’t heard it before…..but perfect for those ‘‘scary tautliner moments’ …..give it a go ![]()
(Edit…Just read that out to my Mrs who said….Is it not time to pack it all in Rob.
)
Ok last one for tonight and a bit of a curveball .
A bit of ‘‘Beastie Boys’‘ from early 90s….although now they must be the Beastie old boys, love the guitar riffs on this track, still sounds fresh, still sounds cool. check it out play it loud ..No sleep till Brookllyn….’’Kick it’‘ ….sorry I’m back in DJ mode again ![]()
If we are going for James then I always preferred this
Yep…She only comes when she’s on top.![]()
It’s getting near Christmas,.all the ‘‘usual suspect’’ xmas songs are being played on the radio, Wizzard,.Slade, Shakin Stevens yawwwwn
…
My local radio DJ mate will be playing the more less popular ones, and lesser played ones…
Including a couple here of my favourites,… sure everybody has heard them despite thread title…
Starting with Gregg Lake…
And one from David Essex…not so much a Christmas song, but released at Christmas in the 70s,.and played at Christmas ever since…(a bit like East 17’s Stay another day )
It was only a ‘‘Winter’s Tale’’.
There is probably only 2 Christmas songs in the last 30 years that get repeat play every year, just like the ones before them
Not a lot of modern choice, but it says a lot for times past
Pedafiles don’t count
You don’t have to like the artist to appreciate the talent.
Very true, but everyone to there own taste, no offence just ones opinion
The 12 days of Xmas
Can’t think who this reminds me of ![]()
