Motorway Lights

Still doesn’t make a point .You can’t chastatize everyone who uses full beam for christ sake.

I don’t want to be pedantic but isn’t chastatise something to do with lockable metal pants? :open_mouth:

I think (i’m probably wrong, I have been drinking) you mean chastise…

Anyone can blow a bulb and not know about it, in the past month my wife’s car has blown a headlamp and stoplamp. Mine’s blown a tail lamp and my bicycle blew it’s main headlamp. I check the cars every weekend so at worst they’ve been driven like this for a few days but I don’t think I’ve ever seen my neighbours walking round their cars for a quick check.
One of them overtook me one day with a tail lamp out. I mentioned it to him next time I saw him. A fortnight later I noticed it was still out so reminded him. He said he hadn’t yet had time to book it in with the garage!
Another neighbour bought a new car about 4 months ago. Recently I had a flat battery and as he was parked next to me asked if he’d give me a jump start. he said he wouldn’t mind but ddn’t know where the battery was as he’d never opened the bonnet.
In about November I started noticing the same one eyed car coming at me every morning…and continued to see it until the mornings got light again in the spring.

Most car drivers think that the MOT makes their car safe and legal for a year and that oil and water levels should be checked by the garage every 12000 miles.

heaven help us if they bring the bi annual mot test in that’s being discussed!

To be honest I would go as far as saying that on a dark road with nothing in front and nothing coming the other way you should be using full beam unless there’s some other good reason for not doing so, surely the point of having lights is to give maximum visibility for safety, so why not use them, just because some people don’t use them properly doesn’t mean no one should ever use them.

Quite True…

Sounds good to me, getting 2 years out of a £100 banger!
