JAKEY:
Hi mike68 , fizzy is 40 years old this year , your fizzy was lasted taxed in 1/9/86 does this ring a BELL ?, GREAT FUN , i have a three fizzys a dt175mx a dt50m and a chinese monkey bike (4 stroke) .
Sold mine in the spring of 85’ sounds like it was used for one more year probably been broken for spares.
I went to the classic bike show at Shepton Mallet on sunday and saw one for sale for £3,600 I got £100 for mine
Im seriously thinking about doing my bike test too - i now only live 5 miles from the yard and its a bit pointless running a car…
Itll also give me the chance to buy a 125 trail bike - always wanted one

What’s the best stuff for bikes to get the grit/dirt of around the engine
i spray the engine with an aerosol type engine cleaner.i also use a toothbrush and a small paint brush to get in the nooks and crannys.i then wash the bike as normal, and spray with wd40 when dry.

Do better with a pushbike.
By time you’ve ‘geared up’ and got the bike out, you could be at the depot in a car, on a pushbike and probably walking too.
No matter how short the journey, basics are a decent jacket, gloves, helmet and snood or similar - trust me, even 5 miles will be painfull if you’re neck’s not covered, little stones, midgies and the cold all can be bloody painfull.

I suppose so, but Ive always wanted a trail bike anyway…
Need to do a bit more research though first!!!

Looking at getting my Bike license for the Up to 350CC motorbikes,
Beats traffic
Anybody got a bike and what is the thoughts of this, i do intend on keeping a car.
Thoughts please.
Why not do direct access? that way you don’t have to mess around with 33 B.H.P.
.
See above the rules have changed, there is no 33bhp category anymore, at 19 it’s either A2 for up to 46.6bhp or A1 for 125cc bikes(pointless really as you can ride a 125 on Ls)
For DAS you have to be 24, or to have held an A2 for 2 years which obviously no-one has yet.
I passed my bike test years ago and still have it on my licence. Is there anything to stop me going out and buying a bike of any size now?

Apart from maybe your other half no, there’s nothing legally stopping you. 0 to 100 in under 5 seconds with a top speed in excess of 180mph, go on, what could possibly go wrong?
With my car only managing about 24 mpg I’m thinking of getting my first road bike since I started racing again in 1999 & I’m giving serious consideration to one of these, save meself a fortune on petrol!!

I live two miles away from depot and use a Honda Lead scooter. Not a level route so that rules out pushbike, too far to walk and it’s a crap footpath anyway, wife uses car for her work.
Gallon of petrol lasts me a month, £16 tax, got other bikes so insurance is negligable. You still need the lid, jacket and gloves with a scooter but you do also have some weather protection so just lightweight leggings if it’s ■■■■■■■ down. Enough storage under the seat for your kit, even more if you fit a topbox.
I have 2 “go to work” vehicles for my 15 miles commute of A17
They are XT660R Yam and Corsa Sportive van, both return 50 ish mpg.
If the road is empty the van is quicker as I dont have to get kitted up. If its a later start I use the bike.
