Most Boring Shift

Toss up between :
Agency shunter for a washing machine manufacturer. 12 hour shift. Moved six trailers. Sat in the cab all the time.

or:
Stand-by duties on rail replacement bus driving. 12, 14 hrs or more shift. Drive to station - drive back at end of shift, been nowhere, but ‘on call’ for immediate duty all the time. Worse still - Yard stand-by, never leave the traffic office. Good money though.

you try doing 12 hour shifts on nights and not goin anywhere ,but stuck in the customers yard waiting for a call out.

mind you at least the generator place has a decent canteen with a big telly and a dart board

mind you friday /saturdays job took some beating for the most boring shift took a gennie out to a transformer for some cottages near to Wem only to discover that the lane was too narrow to get the legs for the crane out or even unfold the crane, so spent 18 hours on site as they run the set off the back of the truck while they fixed the fault, i wasnt moaning as I was on overtime  when they said its going to have to stay on the truck.
