Montracon brakes

Take the drums off. Put grease all over the shoes, No more sticking, and no more stopping.

If i grease the shoes just think how long they will last!!! Economy trucking. (might offset the cost of fuel increase in the UK!!■■)

Problem is now fixed…it was a kink in the yellow line behind the bulkhead.

Ah haaaaa. Glad you sorted it, in the end.

I work for my father in laws company GulfSport (www.gulf-sport.com) we run a 1 make series around the middle east, we are also distributors for Caterham and the road legal “F1” car the Caparo T1. We also have a shop retailing all things motorsport from helmets to brake pads - so if you friend has done any rallying in the past 3 years he will most likley know of us…small world!!
Thankyou for your guidance.

I think I saw your truck in Dubai earlier this year, I was there with the GP2, Speedcar series and the was a white Premium with a race trailer further down the garages.
I think it was you that we bought supplies from.
P.S. If you need an experienced truckie in Dubai I could be interested.

Sounds to me like you may have a sticking relay valve on your trailer, especially if you live in Dubai !

The valve in question is spring loaded - A spring returns a piston inside a chamber. In dry conditions, the valves dry out and friction prevents the piston travelling up or down, which can trap air in the trailer brakes, partially leaving them ‘on’ and sticking -or- causing a delay in them operating in the first place.

Lubricant on the piston seals dries out causing the seals to bind against the chamber.

Solved 5 posts up the thread Mr Mike Lewis!

Problem is now fixed…it was a kink in the yellow line behind the bulkhead. I took all the info and tips you all sent me and took them to my local ‘expert’ and after 2 days of investigation stripping valves and removing bulkhead panels in 45 degrees of Dubai summer they found the pipe kinked. So sorry to those of you who wanted a “Working” holiday here!! The brakes are [zb] sharp now…as this is the only truck i have ever driven i got used to the pointless and vague brakes, now when i prod the anchors I nutt the windscreen!! (need to learn to drive again) Thanks to you all for suggestions.
