NZ JAMIE:
Looking really good Jim,the Fiat looks the part, did you scratch build the rounded front wheel arches?

Who did your decals for the Rentco Trailer?

Hi Jamie hope your all well over there !
Yes I made them out of the kit ones, 10 outta 10 for spotting that and the indicators moved on stalkes
Just abaft the arches.
All my decals are done by Roger Johnston Dodgers Decals.

Maybe one of the very talented modellers could build a Guy Big J and stick an 8lxb in it

Something I’m working on at the moment…

You should show off the rest of the pics of that build along with your rusting methods!

Apart from the exhaust the rust is real… It was while doing a fabrication job I noticed how quick the steel filings from cutting and grinding rusted with the moisture over night… so I collected a load into a bag and experimented… I have used it on the brake drums , the drum is painted ‘gun metal’ and then covered with filings… once dry a soak in some salty water and left to dry…and rust. It can also be mixed in paint, leaving high spots which if rubbed over to expose the filing the salt water will make it rust . On the Scania build some areas were painted with Vallejo ‘Rust’ paint mixed with filings and in the areas to me most rusted were sprinkled with filings (onto the wet paint) before being sprayed with the top colour…

All the above was done in 2012… I then did not touch it until a couple of weeks ago…

That scania’s amazing, if the photos were better quality you’d swear it was real

A seddon atki 400 series I’m building for a friend of of friend…
The kit is a 401 series so some modification needed-most notably the grille had to be completely scratch built -
Just wipers and badges/sign writing to finish

This is my Tamiya 1/14th scale r/c dog n’ pup…

Just about to start on this:

Streuth, that’s seriously impressive! When will truck modelling become a world-class recognised art form? Robert
