Merc MP4 tips?

Ppc? 3500 km so far and never driven it in anything but manual. Does that make me a bad person? Maybe a Luddite though.

It does not make you a bad person but i had a bloke from Merc show me around one and took me out for a spin when we first had them and he said they are all geared up to be driven in auto. We have 6 on our fleet out of 35 at our depot that have no option to drive them in manual it’s auto only or rather auto fleet only.

there still submarines

We’ll I’ve been in it 2 days now…
The Usual driver turned the PPC off, so that’s how I’ve left it.
there isn’t quite enough rake in the steering wheel adjustment for me.
the bottom of the back part of drivers seat feels like there is lumber supports there, and I can’t find where to let some air out of them
I can’t find where the temp control for the fridge is, it needs to be adjusted as it’s a bit too cold
There is only 1 bed in it which is fine, but there is a lot of wasted space above the bed, they coud have put some cupboards up there like the globetrotters have.
It’s a510bhp, but to be honest it hasn’t got a lot of grunt in it. It wouldn’t touch a 500 Scania or a 500 Volvo or even a 460 imho.
As I write this, I have got the night heater on, it is like the older Volvos, the heat comes out the air vents, which is brilliant, it doesn’t all come out of one pipe,on one side of the cab like normal night heaters do.
I am pulling a fridge and running at about 4 metres, so no 15’3" teardrop trailers for me, (and no route re-planning due to low bridges) and no getting soaked in the rain doing trailer straps up!
And I have found the button that illuminates the Mercedes badge on the front grill!!
It’s not a bad bit of kit, the problem as I see it is that it isn’t Swedish!

The lumbar controls are right next to where you plug your seatbelt in :grimacing:
