Another useful comment. Isnā€™t this what the admins are clamping down on. I asked a simple question and got this rubbish back. Admins really.

Yeh, really, Absolutely disgraceful, Iā€™d pm Rikki, lobby my MP,.write a letter to the Guardian, and start a leaflet campaignā€¦oh and call the Police to be on the safe side.

Get a grip ffs man. :unamused:

Donā€™t make me put you all on the naughty step!

Half of you are overweight and I doubt the step could take the strain.

Plus that many balaclava clad balcony entrants in one confined area surely wouldnā€™t be a good thingā€¦

Thereā€¦ You can all go back to hating me and loving each otherā€¦

Youā€™re welcome

Mine is a 64 plate Mega Space. On the side of the centre console in the passenger foot well mine has 2 ā– ā– ā–  lighter type sockets, one above the other.
The top one is 24v, the bottom one is 12v.
Thereā€™s another socket in the dash, next to the passenger pointing middle air vent, that one is permenantly on.
The easy to see socket on the drivers side of the curved console switches on and off with your ignition.

In the 14 plate I had, and the 15 plate I currently have, it was/is the top one out of the two in the passenger footwell

The company I drive for, run a lot of mp4 mercs, and the switches are all in different places

This can be rectified by removing the banknof switches from the dash, and pulling the switch out of the back block, and then, you can refit it in whatever switch position you like

To get the switch Banks out, pull out the silver end plates, then push them apart, as pushing apart, pull it out of the dash

Good find, didnā€™t notice that 12v socket for a few weeks. The Actros would be my last choice of truck available today (Stralis & MAN included). Chronic suspension, poor gearbox at junctions, steering ainā€™t great either. I donā€™t mind the deliberate lack of power on the hills as it saves fuel I presume but the suspension over unavoidable pot holes is a joke. No usb in the stereo instead you get a I donā€™t know what instead.

Our fleet is 100% Actros (19 plate back to 13 plate), on mine and most others, the suspension is fine. On some the suspension is indeed chronic. Mine goes where I point it, no trouble at all. The ones with chronic suspension feel much less surefooted. Iā€™ve not found them to be particularly gutless either, mine seems to pull ok for a 450.
I canā€™t compare the Actros gearbox to any other auto boxes, they are all Iā€™ve driven for the last 12+ years. I find the seat cushion on mine to be extremely hard. Mercs have always had firm seat cushions but in this truck, even after 500,000km itā€™s still almost as hard as wood.
There IS a usb port on the dash, itā€™s a mini usb socket, the same type often used as the usb power socket on many sat-navs. There are a variety of adaptors to plug into it. One of my colleagues had one thats very small and takes a nicro sd card. Seeing as micro sdā€™s now go up to at least 64GB, there should be enough room on one for most needs.
