Well, as of yesterday the keys have been hung up. Cafe refurbishments complete, and we open on Monday. Very nervous.

It’s called “the teapot @ Milton” no good for you boys though, it’s on a 7 and a half weight limit, except for access
Good luck with this, hope it works out really well. Whether it works out or not, you’ll never regret doing it, but you would have massively regretted not doing it.

As I poste earlier on the thread. Most employees in the foo, beverage and general hospitality trade are foreign nowadays. I needed a job 20 odd years ago and went to a recruitment event. I eventually pinned the men down to the wages issue. The sum he offered was insulting!! I told him that I needed a wage and not pocket money. We agreed that there was nothing for either of us to gain from me staying at the event. Roll on Brexit. Prices will go up but we will be paying British people a British wage for working in Britain.
Wages won’t go up, places will close.

Crikey, Im leaving catering after 30 years to be a class 1 truck driver, and youre doing the opposite lol good luck with your new venture.
14 weeks in. Loving it no desire to go trucking, thought I would have been on agency by now. Really busy and making a decent living, 9 hours a day, fursthest deliveries about 1.5 miles away. Bank holidays off and weekends
im pleased for you, took balls to jump intae the unknown sounds like you have it worked out.,im at a point in my life as well where things have changed big time government cuts have devastated the “tipper” companies out here(total cut in highways work) including the line o work ive been in since 2010 so its kindae knocked my easing of till retirement back so after im back from a holiday in scotland visiting the old girl it looks like im back doing mon-frid sleeping in a tin can work in the northern US for an old school small local company . ahhh well so is life .
