I’ve heard that other managers are really good and, as I’ve said before, I think any company that only specs the top trucks, makes sure drivers have fridges, microwaves etc, pays £500 / week holiday pay when the basic wage is only £375 (before bonus’ etc), then that sounds like a company that actually gives a [zb] about the drivers just a shame the manager (at least up north) doesn’t.
non of the depots gives a toss about the drivers, they have those style trucks for the maritime aftersales market. its the only place that you can order a top of the range scania and have it tomorrow.
i wonder how many drivers they would have if the ran daf cf’s or renault premiums.
Been with Maritime over a year now treat me ok good relationship with the office,JD are your comments based on personal experience or just hearsay ?seems to me Maritme turning into the new Stobarts…love or hate em it’s a decent job on all fronts I do’nt take zb and get on fine it’s like any job you get back what you put in make it work for you. It’s not rocket science

personnal experiance.
if im right the only thats changed with you is name on the trucks, you are still in the same yard of dooley road same trucks same management and very little to do with blofield road. try working for an inland depot.

Heard a rumour that they have merged with T D Williams,so a little birdie told me recently.
Don’t know if there is any truth in it though.
Just in case anyone doesn’t know T.D.Williams, Tommy is Johns father. They fell out years ago, which is the reason John moved to Ipswich to work for Glyn Davies, at Russel Davies.
I believe Johns younger brother Andrew runs TDW these days.
Blood is thicker than water as they say.

Your not right Maritime management from day 1 the trucks are on contract transferred to maritime. All driver admin wages, holidays, disciplinary etc are dealt with at nicholas rd yes we’re based in coscons yard no room in nich rd im sure Maritme would,nt be paying the rent if there was it,s the same as all the other contracts csav, ham sud etc not ran from nich rd. I understand working for the inland depots is a different ketttle of fish but it,s like any firm you meet happy drivers and not so happy but some moan just for moanings sake.

Do maritime take on noobies with no experience?

Worth ringing em mate they seem to be taking anyone at the moment holiday cover as long as your over 25.you’ll get 3 months to prove yourself (that’s only at felixstowe can’t speak for other depots)
Spoke to a Maritime driver yesterday at Rugby, asked him a bout the 40 mile rule, told me that some drivers live 50 plus miles from depots, he was from Liverpool depot
1 lad i was running with for a couple of days last week, is based at northampton but lives in skegness, so just ask, if your a tramper and you don’t mind the distance to travel to work, once a week then job done, my previous job was tef transport in scarborough and i live in leeds
yeah it’s definitely been relaxed spoke to a guy in nich rd today from gt yarmouth. Supply and demand another 50 trucks coming on the road this month “aledgedly”

That lad is called Andy i believe and was an exceptional circumstance, He was based out of Tilbury but left to go and work for Benton Bros in Boston, only to find it was in Immingham. Maritime “allegedly” asked him to go back and be top man at Northampton depot. They wont normally employ from that far out…

Graham i was in leeds depot wednesday night is that your bike in the car park
erm yes mate it is, there;s only a couple of bikes there but ya can’t really miss mine…unless your colourblind lol
Only when it comes to red lights as my licence will testify. So that would be the yellow one
yes mate the yellow and blue is mine
Mine was the purple and silver RF900, but I think I’d gone by time you started?
Most of the lads there will remember me, used to come in either on bike, in an xr4x4 2.9i or my audi estate depending on whether I’d be going home or not that night.
2 out of 3 stood out and 1 was too big for the parking spots so stuck out lol
