Maritime Truck Damaging

I’m not up to speed …Ady , who the hell DO you work for please , cos if you dont work for Stobart you should really STFU .

One of thems Lorry pulled me the Mirror off when he overtook in Roadwork on A3.
My Office got the CCTV Image and contacted them.Dont know what happened then

newmercman:
I think one of the lads on here got the gooner for breaking a mirror on a roundabout :open_mouth:

clicky clicky

It was a just a scuff but it did need a new mirror

They get a bit funny about damage, I didn’t get the bullet, I resigned before they could do it because my head wasn’t right for driving again, at least it is now.

I know numerous people to get the bullet for the slightest damage, but others that have dropped trailers on their knees, after dragging them half the way across the yard, because they didn’t put the dog clip on and just got a written warning. A lot with marmite is if your face fits. My old boss there said he would have me back in a heartbeat if he could but he can’t due to company policy.

Plus, its personal pride to not dent a truck. You don’t do it on purpose, just like your own car but then again some drivers don’t give a flying duck do they?

sorry double post

Christ that will need more than t cut.

Nothing a few cable ties won’t fix

a ratchet strap and some cable ties got it to the docks for box off and second job of the day, but they noticed the crack in the mirror so had a disciplinary

I’d have used the old ’ a tree branch jumped out and knocked my mirror’ excuse personally

Looks like an ouchy Lee. Must’ve missed the thread 1st time round, least you’re ok.

Who are you on for now, and which depot were you at? I think I met you once at Bulmers?

i did walk away and was ok after a few weeks and a ‘reacquaint’ course with our very own mr spanky.

I’m working for Roberts distribution now mate, was out of marchwood and yes we did meet once at bulmers, in Hereford if i remember rightly

Thought that was you, my memory’s ■■■■■■

Glad to hear all is ok, saw a truck go over once on the A38 or A500 on my way back from Branston when I was on B+Q, thought it was heading right for me, then realised it was because the cab was flopping about, looked just like it does in the movies, but the driver wasn’t wearing his belt and it landed on passenger side, so he went across the cab, followed by his sat nav, laptop and god knows what else, he luckily wasn’t too bad, but doubt he’ll be driving again.
Me and my colleague helped him whilst waiting for the ambulance, broke a window and covered him with our work coats to keep him warm, it’s a sight that will never leave my mind, really not something I’d like to try for myself

Phantom Mark:
I personally don’t believe a mirror or a small scuff on the unit or trailer warrants any disciplinary from an employer, [zb] happens and it’s part of the job,

What a crock of ■■■■, try paying for units and trailers and see if you feel the same way.
Most accidents happen because the human element screws up, therefore if the employer feels that it was avoidable why is it not a disciplinary matter.
