They’ve got 100 of the new long trailers on ‘trial’, all the details have been posted on here a while back.

thay have got a foot into enso stora in the dock and are hoping to get it all

What a fantastic opportunity for subbies, the Maritime deal is already a market leader, £1.15 a mile at a time when it only costs 75p a mile in fuel to run a tractor unit.

If you do a 200 mile trip, then that’s a whole £80 left over! All you have to do is pay for the finance, trailer hire, road tax, insurance, operating centre, maintenance, tyres, administration etc etc etc and everything after that is yours!

And now Maritime are offering the chance to pull longer trailers for the same rate, in the full expectation that a decreased number of required movements will lead to a further fall in the rate.

And you know you’re going to get a straight deal, because Maritime is owned by the son of Tommy “T. D.” Williams of Ammanford, the nicest firm anyone could deal with, with a reputation for treating drivers with respect. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Go on harry, you know you want to!

You may try ringing them and asking what they pay H instead of listening to idle chit chat. I do a bit for them when my job gets slow and they always help me out and my ppm at the end of a week all ways turns out at over 150. Now i know its not the best but if your subbing your always going to get your leg lifted a bit and they never say no to me.

I did ring them, I spoke to Tom C.

The trailers are stood up because the work has dropped off. Stobart have cut the Tesco rates to keep the lions share of the work, leaving ours in the cold. We’ve been doing a new bulk waste job from mitcham and barking up to 60 loads a day, so no biggie for the seasonal drop on the curtains. We’ve been approved for the new trailers but haven’t got any yet. Most of the curtain boys in tilbury are back on boxes. As for the subbies rates, done to death on here really. You won’t make money working on mileage, but you can ask for job rate which pushes up the ppm.

He is doing some work for his dad, there are a few Maritime trailers dropped @ Alberto Culver in Bridgend

I’m sure sure you get a higher rate so long as it’s not regular work Robbo. You want regular work off them and you get regular, carp money.

There is a connection with tdw bridgend. john williams owns maritme and works in conjunction with his dads old firm tdw now run by johns brothers robert and andrew.
