M6 Accident J14 - J15

Latest is it was 2 boys aged 4 and 10, and a 32 year old woman

who were killed.

Two women also taken to hospital.

Very, very sad day…

Jesus, makes you realise every day is a bonus. Could you imagine having to deal with the aftermath of that… RIP.

Sky news have said that there has been some confusion due to the severity of the injuries as to the ages, but alas it is as above, 2 boys (4 & 10) and a 32 year old woman. Very sad.

Tragic doesn’t even begin to describe it.

I had a 100mile trip today and was shocked at the way people were driving, everyone seemed in such a rush, average speeds on a mix of singles and dauls were much higher than normal and the roads were very wet with a fair about of standing water. I see a car myself this morning that had run off the road!

that proves that lorrys are need on the roads , to slow everyone down !!!

Doesn`t bear thinking about on this day…Someone is expecting others for dinner and they will get a Police Man knocking on the door, this is just tragic beyond words.
RIP to the victims and my thoughts are with the Police that have to give this worst kind of news on such a special day. :frowning:

This ^^ Whilst any RTA fatality is always tragic no matter what the day, when it happens on or near christmas, the relatives and loved ones will always associate all future christmas days with the horror that they must have gone through today. Very upsetting.

so sad on a day like today .what a [zb] world we live in for this to happen , i wouldnt like to be given the job of deliving that news today

I will never forget one of the first fatal collisions I was sent to. Two women (one heavily pregnant) involved in a minor prang at a country crossroads were out of their cars exchanging details when a bloke in his TurboNutter GTi smashed into both of them, killing one of the women outright. We were at the scene for a couple of hours before I was sent to break the news to her family. Her husband had of course been worrying himself sick because she was so late and he had been ringing around trying to find her. Doubtless he had been voicing his worst fears and this had been picked up by their other children. I approached the house, then took a moment to compose myself before knocking at the door.

The husband was talking on the phone and the door was opened by a child, who looked straight up at me and simply said “Is Mummy dead?”. I am not ashamed to admit that I lost it at that point. Fortunately my crewmate took over and did the business.

A baptism by fire for me!

Looking at the location weather conditions ect it’s down to mechanical failure(tyre failure included) or bad pilot error, (such as over reacting to a wild animal in the carrageway, vehicle’s path)but whatever the cause it’s very sad that 3 have lost their lives,

A traffic cop mate of mine once said that next time you think a copper has been a bit unfair with you, bear in mind he might well have come back from telling someone that a loved one has died as a result of something similar to your actions. The worst part of the job he always said. To have to do it on Christmas day and involving children is horrendous. RIP to all involved in both fatal RTCs today and condolences to all their families.

That’s awful roymundo, I couldn’t do that job in a million years.

Sad Day even more so on Christmas Day,
J15 and J34 on slip M6 must be the most dangerous on the whole motor way system in the UK

They are bad junctions yes. The other side of the coin is as we all know, you have a longer slip road such as the m62 onto the m57 and then you get the idiots who use it as a guide to stay in lane 2 or 3 before darting over as they know they have longer to pass another vehicle or 2 and save themselves that vital 1.3 second. :imp:
