M.A.D. motorists against detection

I bet everyone has heard of this group of people that go around burning down speed cameras. I my opinion i think they are doing a great job. I was wondering what other peoples opinions were on this.
P.S. I don’t mind cameras being outside schools.

Here is an interesting link showing destroyed cameras.

M.A.D. Keep up the good work.

Neil.

I’ve seen the speedcam site before, photos of damaged cameras aside there are some good pictures of some of the cameras that are there for purely financial reasons and it does a good job of highlighting those. I’m not going to condone vandalising cameras, however I must admit I am pleased when I see one thats been destroyed as most have been proved to be ineffective in bringing down accident numbers.

Have never seen one

Neither have I but I have seen traffic calming measures such as ramps as well as fences to stop kids running into the road which are far more effective than cameras just not as lucrative :exclamation:

i’v seen the fences at the school’s,there not tall enough, the little beggers keep getting out

Electric fence should do the trick

Instead of going to all the effort, trouble and risk attacking cameras wouldn’t it just be easier to slow down

Theres a small village near Wrexham, a row of about 12 houses a pub & a school
They have been trying for a speed camera for a while, the limit has now been
dropped down to 40mph from 60mph but you can`t have a camera untill
a number of people have been killed at the spot. This is taking the ■■■■ outside
a school when the North Wales Taliban Traffic Poilce are sat watching wagons
on the A483 with there digi cams all day.

i have always said they should all be put in boarding schools til they are 18. that should keep them out of our way

I think all 16-18 year olds should do national service, teach em to respect authority, the little buggers  I blame the namby pamby Guardian reading liberal teachers they bring in these days. We should go back to the Victorian school system. Sorry im going slightly off topic now

North Wales Taliban Traffic Poilce

Makes me laugh reading Richard Littlejohns coloum in the sun

Ooh yes, there is one of them near work on the Canal path I use. It’s handy as it stops me riding straight down the hill into the canal…   Sorry, taking it off thread here

I won’t dispute the fact that speed kills, I appreciate that the statistics prove that hitting someone at 40mph is many times more likely to cause a fatality than hitting someone at 30mph or less. What I would say though is that driving past a school at 30mph (where thats the legal limit) when the kids are finishing for the day is potentially far more dangerous than 80mph on a deserted motorway, which is why I object to purely money making speed cameras as they cannot differentiate where perhaps a police patrol car could. Please note I am not condoning speeding.
