Did my refresher with a local lady in a top of the range Scania, went on a pretty tight route out of Swindon and out to Avebury, and back into Marlborough via the old A4, then through Marlborough High St, and back to the depot, then had an hour reversing in and out of cones and at the end she said I drove nearly perfect, few silly little mistakes but that was just me being rusty, anyway she even phoned around a few friends and now my phone is ringing off the hook with job offers with different agencies and people offering me work.
so all is good in the world again, just got to decide who Im going to work for, preferably the one with the most driving, the least trailer changes, and least load touching as possible, and of course the best wages if poss.
thanks again guys for your kind words and support you are a great group of guys, Ill keep you updated on who I work for and if Im out and about please say hello and Ill buy you a cuppa or a pint if we are parked up…May your shadow never grow short

Probably the best thing I have ever read on here.
All the best for the future
I was in a similar situation I came out of the forces 9 years ago but instead of driving I went in too the prison service & then security , but wasn’t happy so did my CPC , but was nervous about being behind the wheel of a class 1 , so I’ve been doing agency on class 2 and I’m going to do a bit of refresher training on my class 1 later this year , I’m really enjoying the road again , but you got too do what you need to reaffirm your confidence , with me it was geting my toes wet with class 2 , I watched lots of you tube clips on new passes and learned from the mistakes they made on jobs out on the road , once you get that buzz back from being out on the road your confidence will follow

Well if you watched “Trucker ■■■■ in his snapback hat” (aka Trucker Jay) then you’ll have learnt from a lot of his mistakes and probably be one of the best drivers out there now
If you want to learn the art of being a nobody to being an over opinionated expert in under six months (and a Trucker Jay brown nosing fanboy to boot) then I’d recommend Fatasaveryfatfox
