I haven’t had a tv licence for years and never been to court.
They sent those menacing letters every month until I wrote to them saying I had no intention of buying one for a reason that was none of their business. They actually replied noting my comments and would not send any more reminders for two years.
I also removed the implied right of access of their goons to my property.
On my journey into Burton on Trent I seen two council guys gone 4am planting a Christmas tree and not only did they plant it they stuck on bloody lights around it but best of all its on a bloody roundabout.
Yet my friend can’t have a revolving 30mph sign on a doll outside his house incase it distracts drivers but you can have a stupid illuminated Christmas tree planted in a roundabout.

Some 10 + years and counting still get the threat o grammes each month addressed to someone called the legal occupier , lol No contact is the best option don’t engage with them,you have no legal obligation to reply to their bs letters, i never have, i also don’t answer the door to their goons either ,

+1…works well enough in northern ireland as well… botom line,ignore everything,say you do not watch live tv if your daft enough to speak to the goon at the door,bur easier to just ignore…no licence,no payment,no drama. if you do answer the door,do nothing,and have your phone out videoing them as they waste their time asking their script.then they go away,they are from an agency working on commission,just ignore and say nothing,no legal requirement to alow access,or interact with them,if they coe with cops,then no access and no interaction.
