LORRY FIRE

I don’t know about a fire but years ago I had my truck (or the company’s ) truck nicked in the yard 1 night never to be seen again with all my gear maps overnight gear the lot in it even things with my address on when I rang the gaffer to tell him he thought I was joking ,it was a really nice truck but when I mentioned my gear he said that’s your problem

When I had my accident in my truck in 2000, I lost everything and claimed off my house insurance.

Ken.

Im sure i remember reading about a firm years ago in a truck mag yhat offered a driver insurance for situations like that.

you lorry goes up in smoke and its not your fault, how much is your gear worth and would your gaffer cough up on the insurance on it

right in my truck I have…

tom tom £300

laptop £300

kindle fire £150

ipod £150

inverter £50

cooker and gas £30

I think that’s about £1500 and a lot to lose, it all adds up.

I wonder if the current site sponsers offer any sort of cover for drivers personal items!

Just a sat nav, phone and a navigator map in my cab that belong to me. It’s all to hand if the wagon catches fire. Never had a fire extinguisher provided but if I did it would only be used if someone was trapped. Not paid enough to be a fireman or to be concerned if it burns.

Santa:
If you do it right - your house contents insurance should cover most of it.

mine is covered by my house insurance and i think there’s a limit on how much cash they will pay out on

You can usually get insurance at the services - They tend to hang around the bogs

Are you sure you are 100% correct with these figures? I only ask as studying your lifestyle and physique i reckon the £20 worth of food may be an underestimate?

that’s just his breakfast Mike, he stops at the shop 3 times a day to restock the fridge

oh, and JD, you forgot your pink rubber ■■■■■ and lube for when you fancy a quick one off the wrist  :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I don’t have any of that kit in mine, where do you park it when you’re not driving it ? My boss would either fake a heart attack or pretend to be deaf ! Fat chance !

£300 cash why ? i carry a tenner and cash cards etc why you fell the need to carry that much ?

If I was in the UK, I’d be wondering where you parked when you’re not in it.

I work abroad all week so im prepared in case I get caught out with being weekended. Also sometimes I bring wine or some baccy back and pay in English notes for it…

But mainly so the wife can’t keep an eye on my spending.
