Lorry driver's camaraderie

rob22888:
I’m limited to 52, you get bored of flashing every man & his dog in after a while. I do it for the odd one struggling, will ease off to assist if a fellow 52 man has ballsed it up, but generally stopped bothering with flashing everyone quite a while ago.

Tin hat on, come at me.

Not a critic, but just questions:

How does THIS happen?

or this

I only flash in if they are very slowly overtaking me, and im comfortable with when they are sufficiently past me, whats the point of flashing someone in who has flown past you and is miles past you in seconds?

Camaraderie ha ha ha
There only 7 of us and only 4 of us speak to each other .
There’s a couple who don’t want to mix at all , mind you that suits me fine , I don’t want to know who’s doing what and what they had for tea but good morning is general good manners in my eyes or if it’s ■■■■■■■ down blowing a Gale and your in the yard it’s nice for one of your colleagues to give you a hand with the curtains , no not these 2 clowns just drive off leave you struggling , like I said camaraderie ha ha ha

It’s like when I first started with the lot I’m with now.
Prior to that on other firms, I used to help guys from the same firm as second nature, thought nothing of it, most of us were like minded,.and we all got on well.

When I started here I thought wtf is all this about :open_mouth: , the ■■■■■■■■ the back biting between themselves, not a good word for the co off any of them (soon saw why btw  ) the crawling, the trying to impress, the grassing,.which I was just not accustomed to in the good firms I had worked for.

That was all bad enough, but I noticed a lot of them a couple of times just letting me get on with things, without any help,…which I could handle btw no probs, but I was not used to it prior.

One day two of us were tipping same place, a load of panels each, with numerous straps on, so I helped the guy with his curtains in the wind, rolled up half of his straps, and generally helped him to unload.
Before we finished I went to the bog,.5 or 10 mins later walking back when it was my turn to tip, he’d ■■■■ ed off. :open_mouth: …I mean even if he was in a rush he could have kinda explained, so anyhow that was it as far as I was concerned, ■■■■ em all, I just get loaded and strapped,.and away no matter how many of em are in there.

There are about 2 maybe 3 that help each other whilst tipping or loading, ,.the rest are too busy trying to get all their drops off as quick as poss… to impress the boss :unamused: …who incidentally thinks the far end of f/all of any of them. :unamused:

When I first ran to the Middle East, I was baffled in Syria - the trucks always ran on full beam, BUT would then switch off all their lights for a while.

It took a while to work out what was going on, but approaching trucks would take it in turns to turn off their headlights so half the time you would run on the lights of the approaching truck.

Whether this was down to dip switches not working I never found out, but everyone did it & it worked.~

Camaraderie in action as needs must !!
