What does the sign say■■? Is it square, round, triangle or an obnoxious type of shape??

What should happen is all dels for this place should be delivered to Bristol, and let them go and fetch their own goods.

I agee, when I mentioned Bristol it was just a place off the top of my head a good distance away so as to cause the muppets as much disruption as they are causing coms.delivering to them.No offense meant.

Oddly enough, if you live in Bristol, you are probably of course quite close to the self same river! (And some of Bristol was in it today so I hear). Anyway I was in good old B-O-A before Crimbo and saw one of these nimbys waiting to pounce. Not wanting to create any problems for my company (or myself) I did not engage him in the topic of being a bit of a saddo, nor was I of any interest to him after having not travelled over the bridge in my 7.5 tonner.
As stated, the only way to improve things and save the wastage of their time would be to raze half the quaint place and put in a nice elevated dual-carriageway concrete structure (a bit like that Millau viaduct) which would solve all these access problems but will they hear of it? I think you know the answer to that one!

I am not sure how to post the link but the readers letters are on page 36 in The Wiltshire Times and the anti lorry brigade report is on page17.
Titled ; No let up from lorry watchers. Thanks for that Toby
A link is best, but at least you’ve now said where you got the info from, so readers can now find it and read the whole lot if they want to.
They’ll also know that what you’ve put isn’t just some random rambling Tobyism
Can’t see anything about it in the online version
wiltshiretimes.co.uk/archive … 3_01_2014/
But if Toby can provide the original transcript, I’ll do my best to write a letter of reply to the Wiltshire Times at the weekend.
Harry,i have found the two letters.
If you google "Readers letters.Wiltshire Times "
One letter is titled “Police were wrong”.
The second letter is titled “Think out of the box.”
The writer says the Police should be nicking illegal .lorries on the bridge .
If you could show others on Tnuk for their opinion by placing a link.
Thanks.
Amazing what Google can do, just by typing in what you want to find & clicking search
To sum up.Town floods.Police should have been nicking lorries.
With all this drama going on,where were the 40 Lorry Watch volunteers, that is their job ? Having a cup of tea in the Scouts hut.
BOA residents; more money than sense.
600 year old bridge that has had traffic on it since the engine was invented and is still standing.

Yet if the bridge(s) did collapse under a sudden storm surge with people crossing them, no doubt the same authors would be penning letters calling for the heads of the emergency planning committee.
Don’t forget the Police lost a good officer in Workington in 2009 because he was standing on the bridge trying to stop people crossing. Perhaps they are more cautious now.
