Lorry driver dies whilst securing load

bit of a strange time for you to be posting conor old spud…did your agency shift get cancelled??

The driver did the right thing, he called for assistance, nobody knows whether it was one of these sites that don’t allow access to drivers, don’t allow them on the vehicle or what,

Musgrave have a big fleet comprising of low loaders, flats, trombones and Hiab vehicles, they have been involved in cabin & module transport for many years. They are not fly by night hauliers.

They’ve been regarded locally as having a bit of a reputation for crap pay around here for years as you know well. It may have changed but they used to be lumped in with the likes of Nigel Rice.

Listen to Conor everyone the only brain surgeon driving a lorry for every single company in the universe, Nigel Rice. Bill Draper. Musgrave. Readers and many more in the local area have been around for many years and the wages are driven by the economy, I’m sure you could earn more money back in London than you can in Driffield.

Have you thought about the H&SE? it sounds like you are already way ahead of them, they don’t know what happened yet, but you do!

Isn’t it wonderful, how some people can take a tiny bit of information and come up with complete scenarios?

Fact… the load had become insecure.

Fact… the load fell off the crane .

Fact… the driver (RIP) was killled.

… yet people are constructing total and unsubstantiated scenarios!

… but I supposed it is like the Daily Bigot, sorry, mail… never let the facts stand in the way of a good story!

Pathetic.

Did see this incident whilst heading heading east. Incident was on west bound on ramp. Looked like driver had stopped on hard shoulder as he came off roundabout therefore guess it had moved on roundabout. When I saw it load was already off and appeared to have slid down embankment on nearside. Appeared to be some type of modular building in that I could see the steel framing. Crane was there as was all the emergency services making it difficult to be more specific due to all the beacons. This would be late evening so well after the event.
Condolences to all affected.

Local driver from Brandesburton near Beverley was named as Steven Warburton aged 64.

Police and HSE are looking for witnesses who can help.

Shameful. A man has dies doing his job and the usual supect (Conor) wants to puff his chest up and spout his biblical tales of self-perfection.

I’m not a perfect driver. I’m a rubbish one in fact. And I’ve messed up more times in my very short career than most drivers will in a long one. But anyone can make a mistake. And sometimes things just happen.

Rather than judging the poor bloke who’d family have lost someone they love I’ll just remember to be extra careful when I’m doing anything that could be dangerous.

I’d of thought it would be good practise to
Stop & check load , chains / straps on
A regular basis

Terrible way to go.RIP pal.

And people slag Dozy and support Conor, maybe Conor secured the 39 in the fridge and never checked his load again!
