Longest you’ve ever not been in a truck

Nearly 6 years, when I became a type 1 diabetic (before they changed the laws) I had group 2 licenses revoked, but got them back when laws changed. I even quit my job before I got my license back! [emoji15] I couldn’t wait to get back in the seat!

Also diabetic so lost mine in 99 and reapplied in 2014. So 15 years, did I miss it, yes damm right as I felt robbed some something I paided for and lost through no fault of my own. Never got and answer from DVLA as to why we lost the licence.
Would go back full time but with yearly medical it can be so uncertain.

9 years. Jumped straight back in 8 wheeler and drove it like i stole it. Still had a manual box mond you. Couple weeks later jumped in a MAN with a dial on it for gearbox.

Went to pull away waited 5 seconds then got whiplash.

Changed days.

Ps. Im 38 not 68.

Surprisingly enough, the medical isn’t as bad as it sounds. The consultant just checks you’ve done enough blood test readings to comply with the rules, and makes sure you haven’t had any unaware hypos that required assistance, and your pretty much good for another year. You don’t pay for any of it either!

I was going to say nearly 2 years until my coach decided it didn’t want it’s engine oil in Chippenham tonight…

I did 200 days or 6 months and 19 days, before I got behind the wheel, I got a phone call off a mate asking if I could take a trailer to one of his drivers, since September I’ve been doing 2-3 days a week inbetween my days working in our cafe, I’m loving it, doing a mixture of agency/supermarket work or general haulage, for a couple of mates direct.
