Joe appleton? foedn winch tractor in the yard.

That Foden was bought many years ago and has been restored to original condition and is on the rally and show circuit.

Left school and worked at Hill in the workshops along with Monty Theobald, spent the majority of our time trying to get on as second mates on the heavy stuff…both ETN and the Antar !! and succeeded a few times, much to the annoyance of the workshop foreman ( Reg Whatley ) and manager ( Eric Hill )
Use to use that Foden as a workshop recovery wagon, drove it a fair few miles when pulling something in, years befor I had a licence…those were the days…
Keep the pictures coming…

Hi Trunker08 some lovely old photos there mate well done for getting them on !!!

Hello trunker08
Thanks for putting some of your photos on very interesting. The photo of the Bakers lorry with the catwalk on dad has a simular photo so i guess he was part of the convoy will put some more of his photos on soon.
Regards Jacko

I remember when i first went to Italy going over Mont Cenis with one of Bakers trucks, the driver i think was called Mick and had a beard, dont know his sir name, any way Eric Baker used to have a job bringing in escalaters which were very long and indivisble so they had a 55ft trailer for the job and this was rigid not extendable. When going over Cenis this trailer only just made it round some of the corners and in some places the wheels were of the ground and the trailers slid on the underrun bar, another Mary Hopkin moment.
