Hi Lemonmouth
There is an 80 in the back ground of the 4 wheeler shot could it be! I will try to find some more Dallas pics . I also have some books of Dallas I will be digging like a Jack Russell.Bye Rich.
Rich,
That 80 in the background of the picture looks very much like the same motor The reg was WYO498M
Thanks for looking
LM
Hi Richard, i was probably in school at that time and yes i did go (except for harvest or salisbury, chichester,or winchester cattle market day’s) there are two better pics off that load stuck in fareham in cris hills book that me dad has got.The other question is why didn’t they put them on a barge and sail them round.
Had to collect this trailer and load from Southampton docks on Tuesday take it to Marchwood to have the tanker purged and certificated, then back to 41 berth for export.
Looks like an old Ralph Davies Scania but the number was L800TTT?? Anyone know if this was one of Ralph’s?
Regards Pat
Pat… I did start a thread about this motor, it was for sale in Coventry in the summer, member ‘welshlamb’ said his company bought it new then sold it on to Wally Thornburn.
have posted this on ‘scrapbook memories’.
Thanks dieseldog I knew someone would know
Well it is on it’s way for export now not sure where abouts though!
Regards Pat
One from Bubblemans Scrapbook thread with a Southampton connection this time a Pitters Maggie.

The way Rich & Angie then Gary drove old winnie it certainly wasn’t slow…
Jeremy
Those old V8 Maggies, I’ve never driven one, but they tell me if you drove them hard, fuel consumption could drop as low as 4.5 - 5 mpg. Is that right ■■
Whats happening to this thread and the Busby Davis one, they have gone very quiet, where is Mappo, Gazzer , TIR Original and Charley one ?
Hi Fergie 47
Our V8 Magirus returned around 6.75 mpg (which GazIOW could not master the crash box on ) he’d been spoilt on Jamesons Scania’s
)and the V10 did about 7.5 mpg (inc.stops at Serge’s Pont D’ain
) and pulled like a train up Mont Cenis with Ian’s Trailer (Traniht)
Hi kerbut,
I heard Mappo had won the lottery, and when he’s spent the Ten pounds he will be back
Gazzer is still trying to work out what the letters mean after his name I was in the Malaga area last week and no one knew him !!
TIR original rumour has it has run out of red wine and has blood in his alcohol system, we are trying to get emergency supplies to him
Charlieone has a problem with his new shoulder which Pat supplied him, but Scania won’t give him a refund, the DKV card he paid with ran out in 1987
If anyone has any news it would be much appreciated.
Kind regards MaggieD

Wondered where you’d gone Rich. You’re certainly right about that V8 maggie. I only drove it once, found one gear
and drove from Pont de Tancarville to Socabou and then back to LeHavre all at 10mph!!!
Things have been quiet on this thread lately. All the regulars seem to be on a sabatical
Regards GAZ
Thanks for asking Richard but obviuosly you went to the more luxurious end of the Costa del Sol where people don’t even know their neighbours or don’t want to know them just incase they are incriminated in some “Sarf Lunnon” dubious activity!
Bring back El Dorado I say, would mean so much more to people now.
I am still here but only a few photos to show, just waiting for the right moment to stick ‘em on, not necessarily related to this thread tho’.
Anyone on SKYPE look us up on Bar Gaspar 1 and I can “chat” when I am working behind the Bar. If Gaz and Gerbil can manage it…so can everyone else!
It has taken me three weeks to log on here.Is it me? Mustn’t grumble eh.I’m not too happy with Pats second hand shoulder he flogged me cheap. It’s giving me gyp.On a good note,I paid him with the DKV card you kindly gave me in 1987 Richard.I’m very pleased.I’m still trying to get photos on here.I’ve got two in particular. One of Traniht buying a round. And one of Polly sober. Not a pretty sight.Regards Charlie
