This was in the early 80’s doing a bit for Ken Brown.
The fella on the left looks like Billy Connolly and the one on the right was actually called Billy Connolly.
They were doing the ■■■■■■ down to Port Grimaud.
The bloke on the left is Steve Stevenson, think he had worked for Eurohaul but I knew him when he had his own motor on the Portugal run, pulling for Aquilla and Partrans ( Partricks Southampton outfit )…
He was a nice bloke and extremely funny…anyone know what happened to him??
With reference to Mappo…
Good news…he made it to the Ferry terminal OK…
Bad news… they’re letting him back in to the UK…
Good news…he got in the wrong queue, wrong ferry, to the wrong country, he should be in Spain for a bit …

Well Fergie, i WAS going to say nice things about you for inviting me into your home in France, but now thats out the window.
Dont worry about me though, i eventually landed in Vigo on a freighter, and had to hitch hike to Santander,
where they,ve put me
on a waiting list on the Plymouth ferry
…i should get home by Friday…
Even MaggieD changed his booking to Le Havre when he heard i was on the way home…
Welcome home tone…
Am just back from number one Daughters . 30 years old next year and JD will remember her as being about 9 at Anderson Road.
How Time flies.
Anyway here’s one of the pics she had in a drawer…
My first drive of a Transcon on route to Lisbon…
Not sure who took the pic… He was obviously driving the Daf 2800, but like a lot of things nowadays… I just can’t remember.
Nice Les Routier t shirt though and I seem to be about 4 stone lighter…
Just recalled Max Meynier the French DJ with a programme on RTE was it? He had a ridiculous moustache, and I recall I had a sticker on the window of my old Berliet…
Hi Balders, great photos mate of an era that we all loved…hopefully you,ve got a few more…
I think i might have put on a bit more than 4 stone since those days though…

Hi Tony. Glad you managed to escape from Bretagne. Worried about Fergie. When you parted I understand that he kissed you on all four cheeks! Ah well it takes all sorts. Re the weight increase I see you have managed to get over the anorexia all right. In fact I will be able to see for myself next week. I’m having a little op and have been told that my peepers should be able to work a bit better.Happy days. Regards Charlie
Actually Charlie, i dont like to admit it on here, but i had a very enjoyable time in France
with Dave and his wonderful wife Liz…
Fingers crossed for you mate with the eye op…
Have to meet up again soon…
Good luck with the eyeop Charlie…Rather you than me!

I called this “The SOLSTOR Crew” but in reality it’s more “The Chingford’s Crew”!
Hi You four,
It looks like you are planning another “Job”, that bloke with the glasses on the left looks like the Grandad of a young lad who drove for Muscato in Petersfield but I may be wrong !
Regards
Richard

when of course the flexi tacho was in use…
Hi All,
