the Maggie TCR 7 T was 1st use running to Italy with 23 tonnes rubber 10 on unit then loaded balance on trl which was dropped at docks by a tractor like Armstrong used to do?
Phil drake drove later doing Ranks work as was brilliant at reversing it, I drove it when He was on holiday I did get it in everywhere I went but very slowly & a few shunts later.
The ERF was the first 38 tonner A 813■■ OOT driven by Fred (Ken Fredricks) & LTS 25 was the 1st tautliner converted from a tilt wasn’t quite long or wide emough when doing witbread work as had to put plts under plts so the overlapped where the pillars were to be able to close them

Hello Richard, hope you’re both well.
Think he did in WW2, hasn’t lost the touch has he with his head hanging out the turret…
I know he drove a three masted schooner when he was with me on Smiths…You could tell him coming up the motorway, sheets billowing that much he’d, take up 2 lanes, and had a Convoy Exceptional board on the front. Sheeting was never one of his finer points…
At least this load didn’t need to be sheeted…
Not strictly Southampton but close enough at Winchester a Conder Structures Ltd, Volvo F88 PAA 709P

Not sure Jim I know they definitely had a big factory on the Winnall Trading Estate Winchester you could see it on the left just before the A33/A34 split, I think Hill’s of Botley did some of the heavier moves for them years ago.

Hi Pat andJim.Yes they were at Winnall.Rawlings did a rake of work for them when I was with them. They were also at Burton on Trent and had a place at ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ you are.Total recall! I also think that the driver in the Condor photo was Pete Prior who was a relation of the Rawlings clan.Thats enough for one day.I,m going back to bed.All this thinking has given me a headache! Mr Johns was another Condor driver & Peters brother Paul Prior drove for SCATS always called everyone brother .
The Pic as a few of them is taken just below Spitfire bridge (Tomahawk really) on the Winchester Bypass had Mappo escorted him through I think he did it in a Fairy Swordfish or was it a Tiger Moth lol
Cheers Rich
