I live in Enfield! And I rent a council place for £400.00 sheets a month!!
But for that I’d have to move out as private rental is not possible unless you work to live!
New York or Paris are the only comparisons to London in the World!
Here here. London, Paris and New York are head and shoulders above the rest.
It’s true because Delboy said so!! Except he said Peckham and you’d be Crazy to live in Peckham!!
I left Wales to go live in London and I lived in Peckham! Not keen to repeat it though.
There’s Peckham and there’s Peckham though Mr V, where did you live?
2a Brabourne Grove! Still remember it. I was working for a coach company, The Londoners.

Challenge the myth by travelling a bit more - because many think not
Yes because I’ve never been anywhere have I Mr Keith? Heaven forfend that my view of London has been formed after travelling to nearly all of the European capitals and many world cities.
Maybe you need to travel more.
My idea of City living which would be near enough to ( a Swiss ) City for me versus yours because everyone knows vat you ain’t a real Londoner unless yer livin wivin ver sand of Bow Bells. But my place would cost me a lot more to buy than yours the question is why

Well we all like different things, you like safe clean boring, I like a bit of excitement. I lived in Peckham, I like running the ‘am I going to be stabbed today’ gauntlet everytime I leave the front door.
Besides your making my choices for me, if I had the money the place I’d live in London would probably far outdo most of Geneva in price.
Given up on trying to persuade us on where the rich choose to live? Maybe because of course you realised it’s London, New York or Moscow. None of which could be considered very Swiss
I used to live in sumner road in Peckham and given unlimited cash I’d go for 1 Hyde park where my firm have done skips or greenwich.
True Peckham is a dump but dulwich is five minutes up the road and it’s a different world that’s what’s great about London it’s a mix and everyone’s in it together.

About half a mile from my current abode! The area is on the up but can still be spicy!

I think I’d go for a penthouse flat on the river, preferably north side in the city. And your right that’s what makes London exciting, the massive and exciting variance of people and places. I park the truck in Smithfield, heart of the city, very trendy now, and 4/5 minute walk away your in the middle of council tower blocks. It’s just great, I love it there so much. Just being in London makes me smile. It’s the only place that’ll I be settling down to when the day comes.

The Russians are probably flogging their places in Moscow to the impoverished Brit bankers who’ve lost their jobs buying a place in Moscow so that those richer Russians can move to Switzerland.
I think you’ll find most very rich Russians come to London, much to the consternation of the Russian government at times. And prices, property or otherwise, are far from cheap in Moscow.
