And you, Froggy, are bang out of order!!
Just because reasonable comments have shown you to be wrong, or at least in the minority with your views, you have resorted to insults. Hopefully a mod will be along soon to either remove your post or lock the topic.

…after all why are there some many in the UK…[zb]
Edited to remove personal attack. Coffeeholic.
There are “so many” over here because the overall standard of living in the UK is far far better to what they have at home in Poland.
I see you are not intelligent enough to acknowledge other people views on this matter, and that you have substituted insults in the place of intellect.
You are very naive in your views Froggy, and you should open your eyes and wake up to the 21st Century.
So cause it is better in the UK,people come over from where every,so what. They are welcome to it,but when the economy goes belly up where will all the "new drivers go then???Anyway I will leave you to have your group hug.
Hi All…esp JB…i have been buying property in Bulgaria for a while now, and i have a main apartment in varna…which is cheaper than on the coast…which is only a ten minute bus ride away…i also have a flat in Russe above a shop which we rent out…we have just bought 2 acres of land (dekkars) in sosopol which is on the southern coast …and ripe for development…as a newer seaside town…what did we pay …£5000…yeah …unreal innit to coin a phrase…i am gonna retire to Bg when the time is right…language is a problem for me so retiring early and working there is not a reality…unless i open a bar for tourists…(a possibility)…or a hotel …£40.000) for a 12 bedroom one…
The cost of living is very low…a beer 20p…200 ciggies £5…a 3 course meal in a nice restaurant with a live band £3 - £4…the average wage is £45 a month…transport is cheap…there are lots of markets selling fresh fruit and vegetables…and in a natural state (organic)…tomatoes as big as your hand…and full of taste and juices…the country reminds me of how england used to be years ago…the traditions are kept up…and the people are great …out in the country the villages are a bit primitive…and often have no inside toilets…or running water …sometimes collected from a stand pipe …
You can buy all the western goods there now…but its mainly the foreigners who can afford them…english is spoken in quite a few places…and you only have to ask the young people or students for help…but for any international drivers reading this …you dont need any language …only hand signs and gestures…so for me …bulgaria is the place to be …and there are a lot of english moving there… i dont have problems buying property there cos my wife is Bulgarian/English…but for foreigners buying …you will have to set up a ltd company …no problems because its arranged for you via an estate agent ( we deal direct with the vendor for obvious reasons…but if you want a rough guide to property …just look at this site as an example…for there are a lot more… www.bulgarian properties .com
I typed up a long post but lost it b4 it was sent.
6 years ago I moved to greece not quite eastern europe but close enough.
coming from australia.
my wife is greek and spent her teenage years over there but was born in aus.
after 10 months we moved back to australia with our tail between our legs. there was no way we would have got ahead over there. the living cost were similar to here but the wages were much lower.
my advise if your going over there to live. test run it for 6 months b4 you sell up and buy. it looks great etc but wait till you get inside and see the real country and the problems you have to deal with. that said I would live in greece If I was comfortable and didn’t need to work ( not talking millionairejsut comfortable). other wise forget it…
btw we came back to aus skinned ie cash less so to speak within 18 months we had bought a house. over there even though we had land it would have taken forever to get our own place.
My partner is Polish and I spend a lot of time there and find it a fantastic place, great people and a lot of history good and bad. I have a house there and will go to live there in the next 3 or so years, looking forward to it. I am back in England after working in Denmark for 5 years and I do not see much difference in the infrasture between Poland and the UK at this time. I do not see money being spent in the UK as it is in Poland at this time, the motorways I travel on in Poland are some of the best I have driven on, great service stations. My return via Hull to Bradford was a much less comfortable ride.
I can recomend a visit to Poland to anyone, the weather in summer in my area to be is +35 or in winter -20, but its a good way to pick up the flavour of the country and I find the Polish a friendly bunch, the food is very good, as is the vodka, if you feel you would like a more traditional values sort of the place, then this is it, since I came back to the UK, I do not see that people care very much about others.
It also has a great value for money for someone on a UK or in my case a Danish wage, it was cheaper to have my car serviced in Poland, which was done on time and better than the DK dealer, the saving also covered the diesel on the 2,400km trip to boot. I can confirm the Tesco stores are packed with bargins and a bigger range of goods than a UK store.
It probably needs some of the anti polish brigade to visit Poland before they will understand. From what it appears most people who knock them do not even know where it is
And I suppose there is no problem with someone of British Nationality working there because of the UK’s reciprocal arrangements whereas a Frenchman or a Spaniard may not be able to yet.
The farmer who sells me wood for the fire is married to a Pole and her brother spends a lot of time living with them. He is allowed to work here at the moment, but only for them.

THANK YOU BOB
That was the kind of insight i was looking for.( not a pro ee or anti ee crusade!!!)
what sort of price would a house in poland cost?
i have been there a few times, only in the truck.i never holidayed there.
the wages from the polish national and international hauliers, could you live on them?
this all seem very interesting,spain/france and the older eec countries are played out with property prices as i am sure a few of the people on here will bear out.
any of you with polish wives know any polish property websites?
