Leylands (and other UK makes) In The Antipodes

A while back I spotted something interesting languishing in a yard half a mile off the road and I’ve been trying to think of an excuse to go in for a closer look. Today I had a pick-up at the ag. machinery workshop whose yard it’s in - “perfect excuse!” I thought. From the road, at first I guessed it might be an AEC, but then today I wasn’t so sure…

Turns out to be an Albion Clydesdale (with a lazy axle). It’s probably for sale as well.

An old mate Mark from my time in Derby West Aus recently sent me this photo of himself and his sisters in front of the almost new Leyland Comet belonging to the Fitzroy Valley Express in the early 1960s. I worked for the company some 10 years later and I recall the phone number had another digit by then .
