BMC badged but still one of the family
For all their faults, the Constructor was a good site lorry. Around here Smiths, ARC, McKennas, Moulds and Sheehans ran them when I was a kid. Also, LA Lockhart ran 2x Super Mastiffs that sounded better than they actually were

Couldn’t agree with you more !!! We could tip a Constructor in places that would have a Volvo on it’s side.Although I prefered the Fuller rangechange gearbox that we had in the Bison’s to the Spicer splitter in the Constructor.
Did anyone on this thread have any experience of Constructor 8 wheel tipper fitted with a Gardner 180 that had been uprated slightly and called the 201■■?
The first 6 wheeler i drove was a constructor 2421 sleeper cab 27 foot flatbed reg b232owd that was fitted with a fuller rtx gearbox. The lorry was a great drive when loaded but empty on rough roads the ride could be harsh as with the single spring the axles would hop like mad.I had the constructor when it was 4 years old and had it for 6 years and had no rust on the cab
