Let the Licence Go

Well now I’ve taken the decision to not renew my licence, that’s it. I have a Medical booked tomorrow morning at 10 am, so that I can still retain a 7.5 ton Licence, just in case I need it for the Motorhome. I was under the impression that 7.5 ton was automatically granted. But as I am nearly 76 I have to have the Medical test. I’ve filled in all the forms, got a collection of the Medication that I take, plus prescriptions, copy of my Eyesight Test, my current licence and paper counterpart, and a full bottle of Pee. So I’m all prepared. But the whole thing is now I can go where I like, when I like. Nobody trying to chase me, as they do nowadays, no records of what I do. I’m a Free Man. Next month I’m off to my other home over in Brasil. This year we are going to visit the Amazon for 10 days, then in the New Year we are going to Goiania for a week. Maybe if my Son comes over in January, we can take him to Foz di Iguacu It’s great being retired, it’s a whole new life, we are now travelling to places that were just places on a map now, at our own pace, with no hastle. When you think about it it’s almost a rerun of when we started off driving. Sod the Licence, give me some more of retirement.
