Let it Snow!!!

jmc:
Its clear here in whitehaven

It can stay that way, just about to set off from Carlisle back to Scaryport after finishing nights.

Boring old rain here in Southport, far to near the coast for any seriously heavy snow fall.
A few short years ago came one of the very rare exceptions. Snow began to fall a little after 7pm while I stood waiting for a bus home from work.
Had no choice other than to walk the two miles or so the following morning to get to work, as it had continued to fall overnight.
In places the snow was dangerously close to my undercarriage, two to three feet deep. Spent 3 hours clearing the pathways around the care home, pointless really, as none of the Guys all of which are Wheel Chair bound could go no further than the end of the cleared pathways due to the depth of snow on the footpaths.
Felt a bit of a prat, all that graft for nothing, although I did feel better for the exercise.
If Dafdave should happen to read this I am sure he will recall the Day.

How are the roads looking now.I have Manchester,Stansted and Heathrow tonight start from Holyhead 12.30 am.

Fine cold blue skies & sunny here

Started snowing in Telford late afternoon, turned everywhere white, now just a bit of icy sludge left. South Wales no snow end of M4.

No snow in Hull.

image.jpg about 7 inches here .

We had about 3" in Chesterfield yesterday evening.

You can have some of my snow if you want.

My partner spent 7 very happy months living on one of the islands connected to Stockholm. 1st October the Volvo was fitted with spikey tyres which didn’t come off until 1st March.

Why is it the English get so uptight when it snows? My partner found it great fun. May you have a happy life where you are living.

Hi D O M.Thanks,i must say that my ‘‘quality of life’’ is excellent ,although the life here is not for everyone.I have just been working the 3 Xmas Days in the mine, didn’t really want to but when they offer you £1000 for 3 Days you can’t really say no.
Yesterday we had 15cm of snow and the temp was -28c,today it’s warmed up to -18c.
As you say,i fitted the studded tyres in October and they won’t come off again until May.

The rain has washed it all away here.
